I was on the ground with Phil Moore at Argus Media Biofuels Europe and had the opportunity to address SAF demand and supply solutions for global stakeholders on behalf of EcoCeres. We delved into the future of greener aviation, emphasizing the importance of collaboration. The key takeaway? Strategic partnerships are vital for driving Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) development and scale-up. It is evident that uniting airlines, fuel producers, governments, and environmental groups is crucial. Patience in research and development is paramount as innovations take time to flourish. Continued support and investment play a significant role in this process. Regulatory focus is essential; governments should provide broad frameworks while allowing the industry to innovate within them. Were you also part of the Argus event in Europe this week? Let's continue the conversation on #SAF, #RenewableFuels, and #SustainableAviation.

🌱 The first biogas-based #BECCS project in France: how does it work? Along with our partners Carbon Impact France and South Pole, we're supporting three biogas producers in France set to remove ~10,000 tCO2 per year from 2026. The captured biogenic carbon will be transported across Europe and permanently stored deep under the North Sea. Check out what this looks like! 🚀 Airfix and South Pole are actively seeking long-term offtake guarantees by corporate buyers for Carbon Removal Certificates (CDRs) from such BECCS projects. Companies are invited to join this pioneering effort, contributing meaningfully to climate action. Embrace scalability, innovation, and a commitment to a sustainable future by getting involved in this first-of-its-kind BECCS project in France. ➡️ More in the press release here: https://lnkd.in/eeY2fBW6 #ClimateAction #NegativeEmissions #CarbonRemoval #CDR #NetZero

I always get excited about new tech-driven solutions to tackle the climate crisis. Kudos to my colleagues Katherine Phillips, Alex Dewar, Carl Clayton, Anders Porsborg-Smith, and Lucyann Murray for their insightful research in “The Big Opportunities in Biogenic Emissions,” highlighting the transformative potential of BECCS (Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage). BECCS is being hailed as a game-changer for industries, helping companies meet emissions regulations while generating profitable carbon credits. By burning biomass for energy and capturing the emissions, BECCS could achieve negative emissions—if the biomass is additional. Scaling this technology is crucial to unlocking its full potential and driving new revenue streams, accelerating progress toward net zero. The Asia Pacific region has potential to emerge as a CCS leader. Southeast Asia’s cost-effective CO2 storage and supportive infrastructure make it a fertile ground for carbon sequestration technologies. Key industries like pulp and paper, electricity generation, and cement stand to benefit immensely. Could Asia lead the way in CCS innovation? With strong government action and substantial investments, the race is on for a sustainable future. Read our new article here: https://lnkd.in/dJmdtUZG What do you think? How can we make 2024 a watershed year for the fuel transition? “Incremental change by incumbents and pioneers alone will not be enough to solve the climate crisis. 2024 needs to be a watershed year, and collaboration across the whole ecosystem including between the public and private sectors, is the only way we will get there.” In an article for Tank Storage Magazine, Bowen Xu looks at: 🚚 How there’s no single solution to the decarbonization of an industry as complex and global as transport. 🚢 Why 2023 was a significant year for catalyzing change in the marine sector with the world’s first green methanol powered containership, fueled by #OCIHyFuels. 🏭 How we are leveraging existing infrastructure to accelerate decarbonization as well as building pioneering projects including our 1.1mpta blue ammonia plant in Texas. ⚖️ The need for industry and regulators to come together to create and leverage regulation to scale the market for low carbon and renewable fuels.
