Dyslexia doesn't have to stop your dreams coming true - and a 16-year-old I met is an incredible example of how you can turn your challenges into opportunities. Omari McQueen is dyslexic and (just like me) proudly attributes all his brilliant entrepreneurial ideas to his dyslexic thinking skills. Omari’s mum, Leah, empowered him to pursue his passions and not be afraid of failure. Here’s my advice on encouraging kids with dyslexia to discover their superpower: https://virg.in/4d8QO5q
Posts like this are incredibly inspirational, and not just for those with dyslexia. You are proof that while being dyslexic may present challenges, it should not be a barrier to success or prevent anyone from achieving their goals.
In life there is not such thing as failure. Failure is the product of insecurity what humans are using to frame eachother for many different ego reasons. Once you step out of the failure circle in life, many doors will go open! When 2 birds are singing in a tree and one ofs not singing so well….are we saying that one bird is not singing so well or are we just enjoying the sound? We alle have to learn and support eachother no matter what. #ego #positivethinking #mindset #human #growth
As a mom of a newly diagnosed dyslexic child, your openness in communicating about the potential and opportunities that this unique way of thinking & understanding the dyslexic brain brings to the world is incredibly inspiring. It's an excellent reminder that our world has progressed to appreciate diverse learning styles and that thinking outside the box is a remarkable skill. Thank you for sharing such a positive and empowering example.
I used to be embarrassed to be dyslexic, but the older I get the more I realize that dyslexia is what gives me an edge. It truly is a gift.

Why is Dyslexia considered a disability or a disadvantage , especially when the only metric being applied is that of ability to do well at school ? The only time I would consider my Dyslexia tantamount to a disadvantage, is when people gauge me on my ability to spell in leu of acting on the crux of the message i'm conveying, good part of this is that you know right away what people value and you can position yourself in relation to them accordingly. With the advancements and adoption of AI this will become a lesser issue going forward, so the "joke" would be on the naysayers and pessimists in the end of the day . Seeing the bigger picture is a blessing when most other people prioritise and value the "1+1's" .
I struggled with dyslexia as a child and still do, but I managed to turn it into an advantage. Thinking and seeing things differently is an advantage. I am a better human being and principled entrepreneur because of my dyslexia.
In a world where diversity is celebrated, it is crucial to recognize and support individuals with learning difficulties, dyslexia, and other mental challenges. These individuals often face unique obstacles in their educational journey, requiring patience and understanding from those around them. Particularly during childhood, when peer interactions can shape one's self-esteem, it is essential for educators, parents, and peers to foster an inclusive environment that embraces differences and promotes empathy. Children with learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, may find it challenging to keep up with their peers in traditional educational settings. Reading and writing tasks that come naturally to others can be daunting for these individuals, leading to frustration and feelings of inadequacy. It is crucial for educators to approach these students with patience and provide tailored support to help them navigate their challenges effectively. Moreover, individuals with mental challenges often face stigma and discrimination from their peers. Children can be cruel and insensitive.
My first son Keanu had to struggle through dyslexia, dyspraxia and dysgraphia. We battled through school. I had told him about you and I read snippets of books you wrote to him throughout his school years . He also had a picture of you stuck on the wall at his homework desk. All he ever wanted to become, was a pilot. Teacher broke his heart for years, telling him he will never be able to do that. Well, it is with a humungus pride in my chest today, my honour to tell the whole world that my son, Keanu, obtained his wings flying his first solo flight 6 years ago!!

7moRichard, your post brilliantly highlights how perceived limitations can become strengths. It's important to recognise and nurture unique talents, especially in young minds. Omari's journey is a testament to the power of embracing individual differences. Enabling kids to see challenges as opportunities not only fosters innovation but also builds their confidence to pursue their passions fiercely.
