⭐️ We are excited for the opportunity to have recently concluded successful #ESG and #ClimateChange training sessions for the Saudi Electricity Company team, held at their headquarters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In collaboration with environmental horizons training center ENVIRONMENTAL HORIZONS CO. EcoSkills designed and delivered the training sessions, equipping the SEC executives with essential skills in #ESGreporting and greenhouse gas emissions measurement. Focused on #GRI and GHG Protocol standards, the courses offered practical insights into transparency, compliance, and climate resilience. It has truly been an inspiring experience, with executives leaving skilled and ready to enhance the organization’s sustainability journey in the energy and utilities sectors. The Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), with financial support from the Clean Cooling Collaborative (CCC), have announced the establishment of the National Technical Committee on Scaling-Up Energy Efficiency and Climate-Friendly Cooling in Nigeria! Led by Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Director General of ECN, the Committee aims to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient air conditioners with low-GWP refrigerants across residential, commercial, and public buildings in Nigeria. Bringing together experts from diverse fields, the Committee serves as a collaborative platform for knowledge sharing and strategy development to scale up sustainable cooling practices nationwide Recently convened in Abuja, the Committee reviewed its workplan for 2024, emphasising alignment with Nigeria's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) to combat climate change. This shift underscores ECN and UNEP's commitment to advancing climate-friendly solutions in Nigeria, contributing significantly to the country's climate resilience and sustainability.
