⭐ Weekly insight - THERE IS NOT JUST ONE TYPE OF ACTIVIST ⭐ Your community of activists can be broken down into 4 main groups: activists, donors, supporters, and followers. Each of these groups has a different level of commitment. When planning a campaign, think of how to engage each group differently with high-bar and low-bar asks so that each member can contribute and support in the best way possible. On my way to G(h)ent to Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association to discuss how philanthropy can support the climate transition in cities. In my view: 1. Patient support for initiatives, to counterbalance the political back-and-forth and provide organisations with the certainty that allows them to train and support changemakers. 2. Multi-level engagement. Use the mix of local, national and European/international philanthropic organisations to make use of the knowledge in the sector, and help different levels work together. 3. Support infrastructure not projects. Find the ways in which collective support for collective services can help citizen participation and civil society develop for the long term action and long term engagement that we need. Look forward to seeing you there, Kirsten Dunlop Bob DHaeseleer Ilaria d'Auria Alberto Francesco Anfossi Jennifer Clarke & Jesper Nygård.
