Pre-print Alert! Happy to share our recent pre-print on modelling of #ferroelectric Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 capacitors. In this work, we presented a universal model based on the Jiles-Atherton equations that can not only reproduce experimentally measured polarization switching in ferroelectric thin film capacitors with nearly 100 % accuracy, but also explain the device physics while at the same time being SPICE and Verilog compatible. The model explain the device behavior accurately for different electric fields and temperatures down to 4 K, including analog switching. Additionally, we investigated the device-to-device variation effect on the model parameters, which will enable large-scale integration of the FE components to complex functional circuits. The findings are further analyzed using Hamiltonian Monte Carlo simulations, for physical explanation of the analog switching at 300 K and 4K. This is a significant step towards the development of #cryogenic memories in the ARCTIC-KDT project. We are looking forward to more experimental data from ARCTIC-KDT partners and collaborators worldwide for further developing the model. Thanks for the excellent work Ella Paasio and Rikhard Ranta. 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻 "𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗜 𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗖-𝗩: 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗮𝘁𝟭𝟲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆" 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗖-𝗩 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲! We propose an end-to-end open-source design for a low-cost, modular BFloat16 FPU micro-architecture for RISC-V embedded cores. Our design relaxes certain features of the IEEE Floating-Point Standard to realize a cost-effective hardware implementation that is integrated with cv32e40p (RI5CY core). Using these optimizations, we have achieved almost 𝟯𝟱% reduction in silicon area compared to an IEEE compliant FP32 implementation with minimal impact on accuracy. 🚀 Exciting News! 🚀 I'm thrilled to announce that our latest research article, "XeroZerox: Analysis and Optimization of GPU Memory Management for High-Integrity Autonomous Systems," has been accepted for publication in the IEEE Access Journal! In this paper, we address the challenges of using GPUs in critical autonomous systems, focusing on optimizing dynamic memory management. Our open-source tool, XeroZerox, automatically transforms traditional dynamic memory allocations into efficient, centralized memory pools, enhancing the reliability and performance of legacy GPU applications without the need for extensive rewrites. This research was conducted in collaboration between IKERLAN and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center with the support of the METASAT Project. Thanks to the co-authors Leonidas Kosmidis, Carlos F. Nicolas Ramirez and Francisco J. Cazorla for the hard work and dedication. An explicit N-Dimensional method that uses Gaussians to compactly represent complex high-dimensional functions as a tool for interactive scenarios was recently introduced at SIGGRAPH 2024. The technique utilizes multi-dimensional Gaussians to parameterize appearances based on viewing directions and render global illumination without tracing rays. Are you attending ECCV 2024 in Milan? Check out our very own Sudhakar Sah (Sud), cofounder and VP, Engineering at Deeplite presenting our paper "MCUBench: A Benchmark of Tiny Object Detectors on MCUs" at the ECCV 2024 CADL Workshop! What is MCUBench? MCUBench is a benchmark featuring over 100 tiny YOLO-based object detection models evaluated on the VOC and COCO dataset across seven different MCUs. MCUBench is a valuable tool for benchmarking the MCU performance of contemporary object detectors. It aids in model selection based on specific constraints, providing a clear understanding of the trade-offs between accuracy, latency, RAM, and Flash usage. This benchmark can significantly benefit developers looking to deploy efficient object detection models on low-footprint devices. A shout out to the authors of this paper Sudhakar Sah (Sud), Darshan C G, Matteo Grimaldi, Ravish Kumar, Alexander Hoffman, Honnesh Rohmetra and Ehsan Saboori (PhD, Eng)!
