Farmed cod on path to 70,000t but no replacement to wild catch shortfall Although interest in farmed cod is blossoming as Barents Sea wild-catch quotas will hit their lowest point of the 21st century, it is still early days in a sector chasing profitability, stressed Norcod CEO Christian Riber in a recent interview with Undercurrent News at last month's Groundfish Forum. "We don't want to be a substitute; we're a product on our own," he said. "Of course, if some retailers and others choose to use it as a substitute, that's their choice, but we're after a different price point -- we're an aquaculture product that's more comparable to salmon." Thanks to our speakers: @Alice Cunningham is the Executive Director of International Affairs of @Shumei International; Shinya Imahashi, founder and manager of @Shumei International’s farm in Yatesbury, who will share how connection with the soil and plants is central to Natural Farming. Patrick MacManaway, a third generation “land whisperer” from Scotland, who will explain how he supports farmers and livestock herders around the world to improve their yields and animal well-being through deep listening and connection. He will guide us in a simple but powerful practice!! 🍹For this event, please bring a fresh savoury juice (ideally unfiltered apple juice or carrot juice) + 3 glasses🍹 📍 Register through this link: https://lnkd.in/dFw48SQk
