Let’s spend some time with nature today. Extensive research has shown that spending time with nature has positive effects on mental health. Gardening in particular has been found to be helpful in regulating our bodies and minds. Tasks such as pulling weeds give us a rush of serotonin - kind of like removing a blackhead! While plucking away, watch as little critters scurry atop soil beds, going about their little buggy activities. Seeds that we sow start to germinate and grow. Our efforts reap rewards and they nourish our little plant friends. Maybe we feel a little more whole again. #WorldMentalHealthDay

Happy #MentalMonday! Do you ever feel like your mind is cluttered and you can't focus on anything? I certainly do, but one thing that helps me clear my mind is spending time in my garden or any green spot. Recently, someone explained to me how gardening can be beneficial not just for my plants, but for my mental health. Every act in gardening can help declutter your mind. For example, weeding can be seen as removing distractions, and planting a seed can be compared to nurturing a new project or idea. This person also emphasized the importance of taking regular breaks for hydration and rest to prevent burnout. It's amazing how a simple act like watering a plant can refresh our minds and help us refocus. So this #MentalMonday, I encourage anyone with a hobby to reflect and appreciate the moment. For me, gardening has become a way to declutter my mind and nurture my creativity. Today, I picked up strawberries as I enjoyed my time in the garden. Stay Safe Stay Sane 😉🙏

Be Bold, not Old. You're not growing old, you just need to stretch. R.O.M ( range of motion) of your joints is the key to a longer, more mobile lifespan, and fewer aches, pains, and injuries. A more fruitful life of activity. Seemingly small inconsequential activities, like gardening, playing with the Grandchildren rather than watching them, participating in active community groups, and not being physically disadvantaged through premature aging are just some of the reasons I am motivating people to take up small amounts of easy exercise. https://lnkd.in/gdZHh2_Y #oneminuteworkout

One of the largest studies to date on gardens and gardening, found that people who spent time in the garden report better physical and mental health levels than those who do not. Everyone has a different journey to heal and process trauma and grief and to just better understand themselves and the world around us. "The Challenge We Face...Many of us suffer from isolation, inactivity, malnourishment, stress, fear, and a deep loss of faith—in ourselves, in humanity, and in the benevolent force that guides this universe. Restoring ourselves and our nations takes something far beyond better politicians and economic improvements; it takes a reminder that we are a part of something grand, beautiful, and inherently life-giving. It takes HOPE, compassion, and fortitude. Gardening can plant the seeds for much of this and help us see a path to elevate ourselves and our communities. It is a revolutionary act that soothes some of the most painful wounds and threatening trends of our time while teaching us the patience, persistence, and proactivity we need to nourish our ailing world. https://lnkd.in/eZ-nmmJA Gardening offers so much more than I can begin to mention here, including research-backed findings that it improves our mental and physical health. Those are certainly important, but they are only a part of what we will harvest when we turn the soil, set our seeds, and nurture growth and abundance." Great article "A Revolution in the Soil" from Matthew Little, Epoch Health Senior Editor Hope For The Warriors®
