Last night, in one of the most anticipated events of the school year, two teams of third-year Harvard Law students went head-to-head in front of a panel of distinguished jurists during the final round of the Ames Moot Court Competition. Congratulations to all of our students, including Emily Malpass '25 on winning Best Oralist, and the Honorable Constance Baker Motley Memorial Team on winning Best Brief and Best Team! Congratulations to the winners and all participants; applauses to the HLS Dean, Faculty and the organisers. Moot Court event is the moot point of forensic excellence; it is Applied Jurisprudence; Jurisprudence on legs. The participants get opportunity to show their grip on all compartments of learning law. There is research; there is drafting module; there is team work; there is professional and academic convergences; and above all there is high pitched competition with the appearance of confrontation of wits and confiscation of points.Winning such a grand event is reason for jubilation; but active participation is no less an achievement. HLS is the cradle for learning law; ‘Out of the Cradle endlessly rocking’ emerge scholars of inbuilt capacity. It adds value to the scholars to reach the confluence of society at large. All the best to all the participants and winners.💐👍🌹

While I congratulate all of you for participating in it, especially to those who got prizes or marks , I strongly feel that moot courts are different to real courts , and so you need to have a regular experience of real courts

I graduated way back in 1978. I know you did a lot of hard work, so congratulations to everybody! The year I graduated, Sheila Kuehl was named best oralist and was congratulated by Thurgood Marshall; you might know who she is – – See Los Angeles County Board of Commissioners and UCLA. A lot older than I am, even!
