🌞🔥 Today, on National Heat Awareness Day, let's talk sunscreen and sun safety! Did you know choosing the right sunscreen involves more than just SPF? The heat index and UV forecast are key to protecting your skin effectively each day. Choosing the appropriate SPF based on the day's forecast can significantly affect skin protection, whether cool but sunny or intensely hot. 🌡️🧴 On moderate days, an SPF of 30 is essential, but when the UV index is high, boost your defense with an SPF of 50 or higher, and remember to reapply every two hours, especially if you are spending extended time outdoors. #NationalHeatAwarenessDay #SunSafety #UVProtection #SkinCareTips

With a shocking 1 in 5 Americans developing skin cancer by age 70, taking steps to protect your skin is essential! Here are some sun safety tips to help you stay protected: 1- Wear sunscreen: Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30. Reapply every two hours, or more often if you're sweating or swimming. 2- Cover up: Wear long sleeves, pants, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses to protect your skin from direct sun exposure. 3- Seek shade: Take breaks in shaded areas, especially during peak sun hours from 10 AM to 4 PM. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and to help regulate your body temperature. 4- Be aware of reflections: Water, sand, and concrete can reflect UV rays, increasing your exposure even if you're in the shade.
