Yesterday, I had an insightful conversation with a colleague who recently transitioned from the lifestyle industry. It was a great opportunity to delve into the intricacies and challenges of supply chain management in that sector. One fascinating topic we discussed was the importance of enhanced Purchase Order (PO) Visibility. Enhanced PO visibility involves incorporating additional PO milestones to provide more detailed and timely updates throughout the order fulfillment process. By receiving these timely alerts, we can intervene earlier to prevent late deliveries. However, the main challenge lies in collaborating with multiple suppliers to ensure accurate and timely updates on these milestones. While larger suppliers might support IT integration, others may still rely on manual inputs. I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this. How do you approach this challenge in your organization? #SupplyChainManagement #Logistics #PurchaseOrder #POVisibility #SupplyChainVisibility #Procurement #SupplyChainChallenges #LogisticsSolutions #SupplyChainInnovation #SupplierCollaboration

Lead time 1 week seen from different perspectives in the supply chain 😂😂: The supplier thinks it’s enough time, procurement feels like they’re in a race against time, while the end-user feels every second pass. The beauty and challenge of supply chain lies in managing these different perspectives. These are the paradoxes of supply chains, not about satisfying the desires of one party but about achieving the ultimate goal of consumer satisfaction. This means delivering the right product, at the right time, in the right place, at the right cost, and with the right quality 🧠🔗. #Procurement #ProcurementART #Supplychain #SCM

Supply Chain Management consists of a series of interconnected processes, each playing a crucial role in the overall success. From product development to final delivery to the consumer, every step needs to work in harmony to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction. In the flow, we observe stages such as: Sales and Product Development: Where ideas begin to take shape. Procurement: Sourcing the necessary materials. Suppliers: Key partners that provide the inputs. Manufacturing: Transforming inputs into finished products. Warehouse: Where products are stored before moving to the next destination. Logistics: The bridge that connects the product to the final customer. Consumers: The ultimate destination of the entire supply chain effort. Stakeholders: Individuals or groups that have a direct or indirect influence on the supply chain. #SupplyChainManagement #Logistics #Manufacturing #Procurement #ProductDevelopment #WarehouseManagement #Stakeholders #SupplyChain #Efficiency

On Time In Full (OTIF) - Ready to Deliver Perfection In Procurement and Inventory management, receiving and measuring goods is critical as it can either reduce or trigger the Bullwhip Effect. To avoid such issues, a key metric called OTIF is used. OTIF stands for "On-Time In-Full." It measures how well a company is delivering orders by assessing whether deliveries arrive on time and include everything that was ordered in full. This helps businesses understand the reliability and efficiency of their delivery process. OTIF (%) = (No. of On time in full deliveries / Total No. of Deliveries) * 100 Why OTIF? The company's objective in using OTIF is to enhance operational efficiency by ensuring that products are delivered on time and in full. This focus helps improve customer satisfaction, reduce supply chain disruptions, and drive continuous improvement in delivery processes. By meeting OTIF targets, the company aims to strengthen its reputation for reliability, optimize inventory management and ultimately achieve better business performance. Benefits of Using OTIF : 1. Improved Customer Satisfaction: OTIF ensures that customers receive their orders on time and complete, leading to higher customer satisfaction and loyalty. 2. Enhanced Supplier Performance: Regularly monitoring OTIF allows businesses to identify reliable suppliers and work on improving the performance of underperforming ones. 3. Inventory Optimization: By ensuring timely and complete deliveries, OTIF helps maintain optimal inventory levels, reducing both excess stock and stockouts. 4. Reduced Costs: Efficient deliveries reduce the need for expedited shipping, handling, and storage costs, contributing to overall cost savings. 5. Increased Supply Chain Visibility: Tracking OTIF provides insights into the entire supply chain process, allowing for better planning and coordination among all stakeholders. 6. Better Production Planning: Reliable delivery data helps in accurate production planning, ensuring that materials and products are available when needed. 7. Enhanced Reputation: Consistently high OTIF performance boosts a company's reputation for reliability and efficiency in the eyes of customers and partners. 8. Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyzing OTIF metrics enables businesses to make informed decisions based on actual performance data, leading to continuous improvement and competitive advantage. 9. Enhanced Forecast Accuracy: By analyzing OTIF data, businesses can refine their demand forecasts and inventory planning, leading to more accurate predictions and better alignment with actual customer needs. 10. Stronger Supplier Relationships: High OTIF performance fosters trust and collaboration with suppliers, as it demonstrates a mutual commitment to meeting customer expectations and achieving operational excellence. #procurement #supplychain #supplychainmanagement #sourcing #inventory #inventorymanagement #kpi #otif

The 5 Components of Supply Chain Management: 1-Planning : This focuses on building operational strategy for your business. Some of the considerations involved in the planning are- deciding whether to target the domestic or international market, whether to produce or manufacture the complete product in-house or hire resources, how to manufacture the product, and more. 2-Sourcing: This phase deals with procuring the raw material at the right price, time and quantity. For this, one has to connect to different suppliers and get the best rates for the raw material. 3-Manufacturing: As the name suggests, this phase involves the processes like assembling, making, testing, packing, and storing the product. 4-Destruction: Delivery deals with the logistics and transportation of the products. It also includes distribution of the products to different warehouses. 5-Returns: This phase includes activities that are needed to perform when a customer raises a return request or is not available at the given address even after making multiple delivery attempts. In the former case, the processes include are- picking up products from customers’ location, identifying the product condition, proceeding returns, and initiating refunds. #supplychain #supplychainmanagement #supplychainplanning
