Our new paper on the WID-qEC test is now in print! We compared sample collection devices and medium (Cervex brush with PreservCyt versus the Copan FLOQSwab with eNAT), sample collector (healthcare professional sampling versus self-sampling), and sampling site (vaginal, cervico-vaginal, or cervical) to assess their influence on the test’s performance. The high sensitivity and specificity of the WID-qEC remained irrespective of sample collection device and medium and precise sampling site. While self-sampling led to high specificity, the sensitivity was somewhat lower. Overall, the WID-qEC test offers a simple, objective and non-invasive method for assessing the risk of malignancy in women with abnormal bleeding. Huge thanks to the whole study team particularly Ojone Illah and Malcolm Scott in London and in Elisa Redl in Innsbruck! And to our funders The Eve Appeal, European Research Council (ERC) and Land Tirol. https://lnkd.in/eK3542XD
