📝 In February 2024, the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament reached a provisional deal on the regulation establishing a framework of measures for strengthening Europe’s net-zero technology products manufacturing ecosystem, better known as the ‘Net-Zero Industry Act’ (#NZIA). The regulation aims at boosting the industrial deployment of net-zero technologies needed to achieve EU’s climate goals, using the strength of the single market to reinforce Europe’s leadership in industrial green technologies. Milan was the stage for powerful discussions on the future of energy. Enlit Europe has come to an end, but the ideas and connections created continue to drive our commitment to the energy transition. This year, leaders and experts in energy and technology gathered in Milan, Italy, with EDP standing out in essential discussions for the sector. Over three dynamic days, specialists covered key topics for the future of energy, reinforcing EDP’s role as a global leader and collaborating with industry peers to shape a more sustainable Europe. These collaborative efforts reaffirm our commitment to climate action and reflect our determination to lead the path toward a sustainable energy future. Together, we’re on the right path! #EDPWeChooseEarth #AllGreen2030

🌊 🌏 Ocean industries play a vital role in driving economic development, social prosperity, nature conservation and climate action. Currently, the OECD predicts that ocean-based industries will exceed $3 trillion in annual value by 2030. We were thrilled to participate in the International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI) roundtable in Brussels. The event brought together leaders from the ports, shipping, and offshore renewable energy sectors to share insights and best practices that will help shape the upcoming Lloyd's Register Foundation's nature-positive engineering foresight review. As industries like offshore wind experience rapid growth and the demand for ocean space rises, we face both an opportunity and an imperative: to balance economic benefits with protecting the ecosystems that underpin a regenerative blue economy and sustain long-term resilience for coastal communities. The Foundation was present at the International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI)’s latest roundtable on nature-positive #engineering in Brussels last week. We heard from experts from across the ports, #shipping and offshore renewable energy sectors share the current state of practice throughout Europe, identify emerging trends and discuss opportunities to scale the implementation of nature-positive solutions. Insights from this event will inform the final recommendations in Lloyd's Register Foundation's Nature-positive Engineering Foresight Review, to be launched in 2025. Council of the European Union has approved the #NetZero Industry Act (NZIA), a significant step toward scaling up Europe's manufacturing capacity for key #decarbonization technologies. This follows the European Parliament's approval in April. Introduced by the European Commission in March 2023, the NZIA is a central element of the Green Deal Industrial Plan, aiming to boost the EU’s competitiveness in net-zero industries and support its #climate neutrality goals. The Act responds to the global race for clean technology dominance, heightened by the U.S.'s Inflation Reduction Act. Key measures of the NZIA include: - A target for the EU to produce at least 40% of its annual deployment needs for crucial technologies by 2030. - Capturing 15% of the global market value for these technologies by 2040. Support for a wide range of technologies, including solar, wind, batteries, heat pumps, and carbon capture. - Streamlining permitting processes and establishing sustainability criteria for public procurement. - Setting up Net-Zero Industry Academies to train 100,000 workers within three years. - Creating "Net-Zero Acceleration Valleys" to foster clusters of net-zero industrial activities. The legislation also aims to strengthen the EU's industrial base to ensure energy security, economic resilience, and job creation, while reducing dependencies on imports. The NZIA aligns with the EU's broader goals of achieving climate neutrality by 2050 and supporting the transition to a sustainable and independent energy framework. #Sustainability #Impact #Carbon #ClimateChange #Regulation #Transition

The energy transition requires trust. During volatile times, building and growing trust can feel overwhelming, however dialogues like our From Ambition to Reality Summit (hosted by Worley with Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment at Princeton University) are essential, enabling us to share industry best practices and collaborate on how we broaden value and economic benefit. While our conference theme addressed the complex matter of the influence of stakeholder trust on energy transition, the immediate action is to radically change the way net zero infrastructure is developed and delivered. I thank our speakers Matthew Harrington from Edelman, Princeton’s Stephen Pacala and Chris Greig, Melinda Buckland from Rio Tinto and all our other panel members and leaders from industry, government, academia and the community sectors who joined us. #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #NetZero #Trust

🌟 As we navigate through ever-changing policy landscapes, the recent unveiling of the Project 2025 policy agenda has sparked significant discussions within the clean energy sector. 🌟 The Heritage Foundation-led plan aims to overhaul federal clean energy programs, proposing the repeal of key acts and the elimination of numerous Department of Energy initiatives. 🌟 Among the proposed eliminations are efficiency tax credits, home energy rebates, and research programs, reflecting a shift towards a more conservative approach to clean energy policies. 🌟 Notably, the plan targets crucial programs like the Weatherization Assistance Program, signaling potential challenges ahead for the broader energy efficiency sector. 🌟 It is essential for industry stakeholders to closely monitor the developments surrounding Project 2025 and prepare for potential shifts in the energy policy landscape. 🌟 While the proposed changes may present obstacles, they also offer opportunities for innovation and collaboration in advancing sustainable energy solutions. 🌟 As we anticipate further discussions and debates on the Project 2025 agenda, let us stay informed and engaged to shape the future of clean energy in a dynamic regulatory environment. Your thoughts and insights on this topic are valuable - feel free to share them in the comments below! #CleanEnergy #PolicyAgenda #Project2025

In my comment I forgot to mention two E.ON Polska client communication achievements: deleting comments under its endless always-success stories which are so much in contrast to reality, and recently blocking comments at all. Now I am waiting for an e.on story on how its great in communication. Here is my comment, in case e.on will follow its Polish extension and delete it : E.on is simply the best global company. It is excellent in almost everything, perhaps excluding deep space exploration (for w while). There is no discipline in which e.on would not stand for economy, people, environment, science, charity etc. It is so much involved into politics, always on the currently right course. One small element is missing however: e.on is not able to deliver its basics - energy - without blackouts. It is not able to say "sorry" even if it fails again and again. It is not willing to communicate with client, except of threats with lawyers in case of complains. And all ot it is based on my 22 years of experience with e.on, the best company ever, according to your stories.
E.ON is the leading driver of a green energy future in Europe. We are one of Europe's largest operators of energy networks and energy infrastructure. Our distribution grids play a crucial role in achieving the energy transition. Our decarbonization solutions help our customer in reducing their carbon footprint. To underline our strong commitment to a sustainable future, E.ON has been supporting the We Mean Business Coalition. We signed the #FossilToClean letter ahead of #COP28 last year and also support the We Mean Business Coalition’s policy asks from the G7 governments to scale clean solutions: https://lnkd.in/e3P-ZKez
