In the near future, today's students will enter jobs that do not yet exist. The graduate labor market faces challenges from automation, casualization, globalization, and an anticipated rise in graduate numbers over the next decade. Things I Wish I Knew at Every Level of University ✓ First Year Looking back, I took some risks, but I wish I had gone even further. I joined a few activities, but I now see how much more I could have gained by immersing myself in quizzes, debates, and other extracurriculars early on. University isn't just about grades (I kid you not, get GREAT grades but that should not be everything)—it’s about the relationships you build too. I made some lifelong friends, but I wonder what would have happened if I had been transparent about the challenges I faced from day one. I did alright, but from where I stand now, I see how much richer that first year could have been. Bonus point: Perfect time to start drafting your CV. It guides towards the right activities and helps focus on what really matters. Also, a solid personal routine that supports your growth is a MUST! Regularly review to ensure it’s working. ✓ Second Year: I pushed myself, but I wish I had taken even bigger chances. I know I could have stepped further out of my comfort zone. I overworked myself, maybe a little more fun and spontaneity wouldn’t have hurt! University is about discovering both your passions and your limits. If I could go back, I’d tell myself to trust the process more, even when it feels uncomfortable. ✓ Third Year: I took one internship and learned real-world skills. But knowing what I do now as a graduate, I feel like I could have dived deeper. More internships, more hands-on experience, more trust in my own ideas and instincts. I didn’t just coast through university, but I probably could have questioned things more, explored more, and experimented with more opportunities. In hindsight, I've realized that even when you think you're doing a lot, there's always room to do more. ✓ Fourth Year: I held leadership positions, attended conferences, and even started a business, but I realized I could have done even more. I wish I had really leaned into my successes and built stronger relationships with lecturers and mentors. I honed some of my skills and talents, but now, I see a bigger picture. Still, I have no regrets—I got chartered, made great connections, and had some of the best experiences university life has to offer. To those still in school, make the most of this phase. You’ll never get these exact moments back! So here’s my advice: dive in, take those risks, and embrace every opportunity. The classroom is only part of your education; the real world requires practical skills. Don’t just accept things at face value—learn to question, explore, and push boundaries. At any level, remember that the real world is fast approaching, so be proactive in gaining practical experience. Internships, hands-on projects, and volunteering will teach you what books can’t. And don’t be afraid to ask for help—vulnerability is not a weakness. Stay curious, and keep learning beyond the classroom! What other points would you like to add? I'd be in the comment section.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 — 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗪𝗵𝘆? In today's fast-paced world, we're producing graduates at a record pace, yet the job market seems to be shrinking in comparison. The imbalance between universities churning out degrees and the availability of jobs reveals a crucial gap: 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘃𝘀. 𝗗𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀. Companies aren’t just looking for academic credentials anymore—they need adaptable, critical thinkers who can navigate real-world challenges. Here’s what we can do: 💎 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀: Communication, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence are in high demand. 💎 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆: Encourage more internships and real-world training during university programs. 💎 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: Stay updated with industry trends and constantly refine your skill set. It’s time we recalibrate this balance—because education should lead to more than just a degree. ♻ Share this with your network and empower others. Stay Ahead, Stay Inspired—Follow for More!

Sharing some thoughts on how incoming MBA batch can get most out of their two year journey:- 1.B-school Case-competitions can be one of the most rewarding experience. Start your baby steps with intra- B-school competitions & you can learn nuisances & grit for corporate competitions. What immensely helped me when I faced a lack of competition culture during my MBA was btribe case competition & placement bootcamp courses. For students from all tiers B-schools can tremendously gain from the rejuvenating mindset they bring in what they teach from corporate-skill fit orientation:-cv guidance, career trajectory mentorship, off-campus live projects & internship search, case deck reviews & a lot more from the plethora of excellent mentors they have assembled. Students, especially from tier 2 & tier 3 B-schools where case competition culture is in nascent phase can immensely benefit. Trust me, they would be better mentors than your college seniors themselves. 2.Building a solid resume is something that has spectrum of opinions flooding initially particularly to freshers for initial projects or off-campus internship search. It’s way more important than unnecessary guest lectures ,classroom lectures or commitments you will get overburdened initially of your first year. Prioritize learning over the buzz of pressure handling. B-school doesn't prepare you for a market like we have witnessed in 2023-24. Let that sink in. 3.. Staying out of herd mentality:-B-schools have most of thing they do or teach are highly unproductive or makes no-sense in every changing dynamic corporate world where skill groups are constantly changing. Keeping yourself out of that B-clutter by focusing on what feels like value adding to your time is what you should be aware of. Academics & its grades matter a lot for initial shortlisting or interviews. But when you see it from the lens of what you really get as an ROI of the time in academics vs actual industry-ready skills you get, it’s just pathetic even in most B-schools. Grade orientation should be just a underlying foundation of how you are dedicated to academics, nothing more than that. There is more to explore by delimiting the boundary of your B-school community. Try to engage with better B-school folks around, benchmark what they are doing better, making meaningful connections & keep yourself sane by being no ears to toxic peer pressure, limited mindset, a feeling of plateau of efforts based on how others in your batch are pursuing & other non-sense plaguing B-schools in the name of handling ‘pressure or meeting expectations of professors, peers or unmeaningful friend circles that constantly change.’ P.S:- MBA is a rewarding program when you are aware that peer learning is just a myth borne out of FOMO of not being left out. Learning is an individual journey & so the underlying efforts. Once you don’t set any benchmark based on what others are doing, learning will inflow as natural as a child.

Congratulations to all the B-school admits out there! Here's some advice I would've loved to have entering B-school myself: 𝟏. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐥𝐲 B-school throws a lot at you: academics, clubs, events, networking. There will never be enough time for everything. Focus on activities that truly add value to your personal and professional goals. Remember, a well-rounded CV with impactful experiences trumps a scattered one. 𝟐. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐕 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲. This is gold. Having a strong CV with your achievements documented saves you scrambling later for applications, internships, or placements. It also frees up valuable time for that much-needed sleep! 𝟑. 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐭. Yes, strong academics can open doors, especially for SIPs (Summer Internship Programs). But if your undergrad GPA isn't stellar, focus on acing your B-school courses. A high CGPA demonstrates your ability to handle the program's rigor and can still impress recruiters. Here are some 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 to consider: 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤: Connect with classmates, alumni, and professionals. These connections are invaluable for future opportunities. 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: Find a mentor who can guide you through the program and offer career advice. Don't be afraid to 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐞: B-school is a time to explore new interests and develop new skills. 𝐄𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲, 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞! B-school is an intense but incredible experience. Embrace the challenges, celebrate the successes, and make the most of every moment. By following this advice and staying focused, you'll get the most out of your B-school experience. Good luck! #MBA #BatchOf26 #BSchools #IIM

Hola Linkedin Family, What is MBA? Why is everyone in this country are still crazy about it? Why is this considered as the ultimate goal of the students from all the backgrounds (specifically the engineers, B.Com, even though it’s masters for BBA Students)? A fine evening sitting at the top floor of my PG while doing the Internships “part of MBA curriculum” all of these question popped up into my little brain Having experienced 1 year of the course, I wasn’t able to understand a bit what all new thinks I got to know in the same duration. Was it an experience while taking a coffee break in the evening or just walking across the corridors for switching the classes, or waking up at 8:15 am to reach for a class scheduled at 8:45, (distance between the building being 10 min walk+10 min of breakfast) or talking to professors about the assignment given??? And started to decode these things to the actual conversation/discussions we had during living the most random phase of our life (adventure) Reaching to deadlines- taught us the true meaning of smart work Sipping coffee (bitching about everything happening in our lives)- taught the judgements necessary to be a part of this human jungle Reaching classes- taught us how the time estimation has to be accurate and not over and under estimated Assignments- Taught us how to present a topic like a pro, even when you have not the slightest clue about the topic the other evening All these is just the main highlights//the life here is packed by 10 such assignments simultaneously// an exam starting in two days//the placement interviews aligned or comes with a surprise a night before for the role you might even not know before But between these hustle, we never miss the post dinner 2 hour breaks of doing a complete random walks in the campus…chilling with friends (who are the biggest asset we are gathering in this journey) Have we learned these importance of socialising, have we learned the different art of negotiating with professor of why we were late with a minute, have we learned handling multiple task together and still laughing at the conditions and THE MOST IMPORTANT- TEAM WORK- COLLABORATION-DIVERITY-INCLUSION #MBALIFE #PROUDMBA #STUDENTALWAYS
