12K (3 x 4K) this week for anyone who has been struggling with depression, anxiety, or panic attacks. If you’ve never visited a therapist before, I highly encourage you to consider it. The techniques they provide can be life-changing — so much so that I believe they should be taught as essential life skills in schools. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one technique that has been particularly helpful for me, allowing me to recognize and break the vicious cycle of negative thoughts. Art therapy is another method that helped me manage work-related stress and anxiety derived from the illness of a loved one. Remember, seeking help is not a sign of weakness. You can do this! I’m aiming to run 120K (12 x 10K) in February 2025 to raise awareness and support for Mind, the mental health charity that provides vital services to those who need it most. I’ve set up a JustGiving page https://lnkd.in/ePRAZVtK, where all contributions will go directly to supporting their essential work. If you’re able, please consider donating to help those struggling with their mental health — together, we can make a real difference. #mindofiron #mind #mentalhealthcharity #charityrun #running #resilience

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental illness affects millions of individuals worldwide. The focus on mental health in May aims to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage people to speak openly about their struggles. For individuals struggling with mental illness, coping can be a difficult feat, but it’s important to know that support is available in your community. There are various resources that can help, such as mental health clinics, counseling centers, support groups, and crisis hotlines. Many of these services are either free — like free and charitable clinics — or charge a nominal fee, making them accessible to anyone in need. You can help CUCS continue to promote positive mental health with a recurring monthly gift. Why? Ask yourself: How would you cope with the stresses of life without anyone to turn to? How would you work productively without a home? How would you contribute to their community if they don’t have a community? How would you realize their full potential with an untreated mental illness? CUCS provides the foundation necessary for homeless and formerly homeless New Yorkers to do all these things and live better lives. Visit cucs.org/donate to learn more. #cucsnyc #mentalhealth #endthestigma #homelessnyc #streetoutreach

Mental health is crucial for overall well-being, yet men are statistically less likely to seek help. Every year, over 6 million men suffer from depression, and suicide rates for men are nearly 4 times higher than for women. Reaching out and normalizing conversations around mental health can save lives. HCN is supporting BROvember to raise awareness and support men’s health, from physical wellness to mental well-being. Support family, friends, and colleagues to help men feel empowered to take charge of their health. You can also show your support by donating here: https://lnkd.in/eBcRSC26 #brovember #brovember2024 #menshealth #mentalhealth #menshealthawareness #mentalhealthawareness #givingback #HCNFamily #HCNStrong #socialresponsibility

In this video, Tracy Palmquist dispels the myth that mental illness is uncommon. The reality is mental health challenges touch far more people than many realize. 1 in 5 Canadians will experience mental illness in any given year. It’s a startling statistic, but it’s only part of the story. By the age of 40, half of the population will have faced a mental health challenge. Mental illness is not rare, and it can affect anyone at any stage of life. The impact of mental illness extends beyond those who experience it firsthand. Families, friends, and support systems are also deeply affected, showing just how crucial it is to provide support and resources to both individuals and their loved ones. Tracy’s video serves as a powerful reminder—we need your help. By donating to the Mental Health Foundation's 1 in 5 Campaign via the webpage linked in our bio, you can support crucial programs and services that make a difference for those facing mental health challenges. Every donation counts in building a healthier, more compassionate community. #OneInFive_AB #MentalHealthMatters #SupportMentalHealth #EndTheStigma

🌟 Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month: Let’s Break the Stigma! 🌟 June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s essential that we all play a part in supporting the well-being of the men in our lives. 💙 👉 Why is this important? Men often face societal pressure to be stoic and hide their emotions. Let’s change that narrative! By openly discussing mental health, we can break down barriers and encourage men to seek help when needed. 👉 How can you contribute? Spread Awareness: Let your network know about Men’s Mental Health Month. Listen: Be there for the men around you. Sometimes, a simple conversation can make a significant impact. Support Charities: Consider donating to mental health organisations that focus on men’s well-being. Remember, supporting men’s mental health isn’t limited to June—it’s a year-round commitment. Let’s create a more compassionate world together! 💪 #MensMentalHealth #BreakTheStigma #WellBeingMatters
