The Education Endowment Foundation Teaching and Learning Toolkit summaries peer tutoring as "high impact for very low cost based on extensive research". If you are a Year 3 or Year 5 teacher, we have three targeted maths programmes designed to be delivered over three or six weeks. Sign up to our teacher trials for step-by-step guidance on how to implement the programme, the resources to deliver this and our trial wizard completes an automated analysis to generate an impact report. This is free for schools to use to help you generate evidence to see if this approach works in the context of your school. Visit www.whatworkedteachers.com and search for England in the filter to find the three peer tutoring programmes. Here is a link to the EEF Toolkit Peer Tutoring strand if you are interested in exploring the evidence. #education #schools #primary #primaryschools #evidencebased #schoolleaders https://lnkd.in/e3uS8Dhw

As states have passed third-grade reading retention laws, they have also funded third-grade reading camps to support those students who did not meet grade-level standards. Looking at this most recent report from Amplify on the impact of summer learning loss, investments for K-2 summer learning are also needed to ensure students sustain the gains they've made during the school year. And these investments can reduce the need for future third-grade reading camps. "The instructional loss is greatest from kindergarten to grade 1, where as many as one in four students come back from summer no longer able to demonstrate their reading skills. But the instructional loss is notable in all grades." https://lnkd.in/eUzRTZwU
New report: Data highlights significant summer instructional loss from the youngest students, reinforcing the importance of strong core instruction in early literacy
