Here’s a reminder of the privilege we hold and the pride we should feel for reaching these educational milestones. Many of us have had the chance to pursue a bachelor’s degree—a privilege denied to many. Some have even gone on to earn master’s degrees or PhDs, opportunities that are far from guaranteed. In my country, we sometimes take this for granted, rarely pausing to reflect on the rare privilege of accessible education. Beyond this, we made choices: to simply enjoy the journey, or to push ourselves further, often sacrificing freedoms to excel and perfect our learning paths. You chose the latter. You worked tirelessly, overcoming challenges, fighting distractions, and walking the hard road toward honors. Whether you chose your major out of passion or took a leap of faith, you pursued something meaningful—you wanted to make a difference, to have a voice, to inspire change in your own unique way. Now that you’ve come this far, take a moment to appreciate yourself. Recognize the strength, dedication, and resilience that brought you here. Whether you’re clear on your path or still finding your way, remember why you started. Continue to teach, to learn, and to share. Aim to make a positive impact, no matter how small, and always stay open to growth. This is a gentle reminder to myself and, hopefully, to anyone who might read this too.

The key to growth? Embracing change and new challenges. You wake up each day: Stuck in a comfort zone Comfortable routines Familiar goals Limited growth It may feel safe, but it limits potential. Instead, start looking at challenges as opportunities: Say yes to things that scare you Seek projects that stretch your skills Focus on experiences over comfort Commit to a mindset of continuous learning The best way to grow is to take action, no matter how small. Are you challenging yourself enough? If not, it’s time to shake things up.

As an Olympian, I can often obsess over personal growth—more skills, more knowledge, more everything (keep reading if you can relate). However, what if the true key to growth wasn't about adding more to ourselves, but about giving more to others? I recently realized that my most significant breakthroughs came not from learning a new skill, reading a new book, or listening to the latest TED talk, but from actually using what I learned, heard, or read previously (my existing skills) to contribute to those around me. Read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/gkVK9FnW Isn't it interesting that when we shift our focus from what we can gain to what we can give, we not only grow ourselves, but also those around us. It's a transformative shift that can lead to more meaningful success. How have you shifted from a growth mindset to a contribution mindset in your career?
