We are thrilled to unveil “Learner-Centered in Focus,” an exciting, new report authored by Dr. Khara Schonfeld-Karan, our Director of Field Research. Through three core dimensions of insight—youth experiences, leader and learner strategies, and national comparisons—this report reflects the transformative potential of learner-centered education. With data gathered through the Leaps Student Voice Survey, in collaboration with Transcend, findings reveal that young people from learner-centered sites reported 73% agreement on having experiences that align with all five key elements of learner-centered education—a rate 21% higher than the survey’s national benchmark. These core elements—learner agency; socially-embedded; personalized, relevant, and contextualized; open-walled; and competency-based—represent the future education experience we envision for all learners. The report reflects our commitment to advancing learner-centered innovation. The stories and data in the report reveal the transformative power of placing young people at the center, fostering a future where all learners can thrive.
