At VERT DE COEUR, we’ve attended our fair share of shows, especially those focused on gin, and found that participation often comes at a tough-to-justify cost for small producers. Expensive booths, saturated markets, big brands with aggressive offers... In this context, is it really profitable for small producers like ourselves, or do the organisers benefit more? 🧠 Spirits competitions: Are medals really for everyone? With hundreds of awards given out , I wonder if they still add real value to a brand. Artisans who genuinely push boundaries are rare in these competitions, and I can’t help but think it might be deliberate—protecting authenticity at the cost of visibility. What paths are left for a small, ambitious brand aiming to make its mark without losing its soul or resources? Is pure creative passion only finding its place outside these competitions?
