Allergy & Asthma Network is pleased the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has finalized the National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Fine Particulate Matter (PM NAAQS). The impact of particle pollution on public health is great and when inhaled, fine particle matter can be harmful for asthma triggers and affect breathing. 🌍🚨 Allergies, including asthma and eczema, are on the rise—affecting millions worldwide. But what’s behind this growing health crisis? 🤔 Did you know that environmental changes are driving the rise in allergies around the globe? From urbanization to pollution to climate change, these factors are altering our landscapes, increasing our daily exposure to harmful allergens. These environmental changes are extending the pollen seasons and increasing pollutant levels, further aggravating the severity of allergies which puts extra strain on our healthcare systems. Fortunately, through policy changes, sustainable urban planning, and better air quality management, we can improve global health, one step at a time. CHOLERA PREVENTION = kOCV + POTABLE WATER +SANITATION + HYGIENE IMPROVEMENTS - REVIEW This review illustrates the temporal scale of waning direct protection, but indirect protection may wane even quicker in some settings due to human mobility patterns and the initial coverage of kOCV campaigns. While the world waits for universal access to water and sanitation in addition to better and more cholera vaccines, we must focus on improving the quality of vaccination campaigns in addition to improving surveillance of clinical cases and vulnerability factors so that we can dynamically track and respond to cholera risk.
