European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients' Associations (EFA)’s Post

Safe treats should be a reality for #foodallergy patients! 🍬✅ At the CAOBISCO Congress, we discussed a crucial topic for the #confectionery industry: precautionary allergen labelling (#PAL). For people living with food allergy, clear and reliable labels can mean the difference between enjoying a treat 🎂 or risking their #health ⚠️. 🛑 The challenge? PAL must be trustworthy and science-driven. That’s why EFA is calling for: 📜EU-wide harmonised rules to ensure consistent and clear PAL, based on common 'may contain' and ED05 based reference doses 🎓Mandatory education and communication for food businesses, doctors, regulators and patients Getting PAL right is more than #foodsafety — it is about freedom of choice for food allergy patients. Let’s ensure no one has to second-guess their favourite treat! 🍭 #PrecautionaryLabelling #allergysafety #allergy #allergyawareness #foodlabels 📸 Romain Triollet
