How do you make people use reusable shopping bags? 🤔 Handelens Miljøfond, Norway's largest private environmental fund, works to reduce the use of single-use plastics by supporting projects that reduce plastic pollution, increase recycling, and reduce the consumption of plastic bags. A key project in this is Ombruksnettet, where we have helped create a consumer-friendly, reusable shopping bag concept based on thorough user insight. Pssst! Re-use and fossil free, great combination! And if the value is there, consumer are willing to pay? I like the concept of re-using your bottle and use tap water. Since I moved to Singapore, we do this at home also. In combination with a biobased bottle, this even better, when you see the whole Life Cycle. However I think for a brand owner, it is important to make marketing and promotion when he decide to use sustainable materials in general. So a consumer has the choice to decide by themselves if they are willing to pay more for a better future. And a brand owner will be able to ask for a higher price for the sustainable packaging. What do you think? Are consumers willing to pay a little bit more for a sustainable product or price is key?
Braskem’s I’m green™ bio-based is a key component in Bottle Up durable reusable water bottles. According to Richard Lambert, Business Development for Bio-Polymers, “It is an honor to support Bottle Up’s journey towards a brighter future by supplying I’m green™ bio-based materials, a perfect solution for their mission and sustainability goals.” Bottle Up’s dedication to eliminating plastic pollution and creating a more sustainable world is a real inspiration for all of us. Our Uruguay office is embracing sustainability this Plastic Free July! The team are taking significant steps to reduce single-use plastics by implementing initiatives that encourage positive habits: ♻️ Providing reusable lunch boxes for buying meals - potentially saving over 100 uses of plastic packaging per box. ♻️ Since last year, the team has been recycling coffee capsules. While not plastic, like tea bags, they are thrown into the compostable trash can to reduce waste. ♻️ To make the process fun, they've introduced a game to ensure proper disposal of waste, classifying it as recyclable, non-recyclable, or compostable. If a colleague makes an incorrect choice, they do something nice for the team, such as bringing homemade food to share with everyone. Thanks to everyone involved for your commitment and enthusiasm in making small but impactful changes! #WeAreApex #ApexGroup #CSR #PlasticFreeJuly #ImpactChampions #DrivingPositiveChange #FinancialServices #Sustainability | Carolina Diaz Salaberry | Agustin Mariatti

The third pillar of sustainability at Storopack comprises a series of collaborative initiatives in which we are involved. And because it is the third pillar, here are three facts about our collaborative initiatives: 1️⃣ Plastic waste in the environment, especially in oceans, is a major global challenge. We have joined the Alliance to End Plastic Waste and are working with other companies to ensure that no plastic waste enters the environment, and that existing plastic is eliminated. 2️⃣ Flexible packaging is an important aspect of our modern society. As part of CEFLEX we aim to optimize the circular economy of flexible protective packaging. All CEFLEX members share the common goal of establishing a sustainable infrastructure for the collection, sorting, and recycling of flexible post-consumer packaging across Europe. 3️⃣ Our company helps to prevent the loss of granulate in the value chain. At all our sites worldwide, we are committed to the Operation Clean Sweep guidelines and the goal of preventing plastic particles from our production facilities from entering the environment via waterways.
