I’m not a Pickler, I’m a runner, I’m a coffee girl but I can’t help but think what can we learn from the amazing growth of Pickleball. According to Pickleheads the number of Picklers has grown over 200% over the past three years to 36.5 million people (16% of the US population over the age of 18 - Wow). That’s a lot of potential cups of coffee. The enthusiasm for pickleball is fueled by community, connection and competition, possibly also a bit of coffee. These pickleball courts on the lower east side NYC not only serve the local community but they’re also a live billboard for the sport with its location near Pier 17! As courts like these keep popping up, they serve as a powerful reminder: industries change, but businesses that connect deeply with people grow exponentially. As coffee business owners, let’s continue to Dream Big and Be Bold by creating hubs for our communities, collaborating with others and remaining flexible to evolving coffee trends. Take a page from pickleball and keep crafting spaces where our communities, our businesses, our lives thrive. Anyone want to create a Pickleball coffee roast or open a Pickleball themed coffee shop? Hmmm… #Pickleball #BusinessGrowth #CoffeeBusiness #Community #pickleheads #profitfirst

Extremely Dissatisfied with Pepperfry's Product Quality and Service I want to highlight a disappointing experience with @Pepperfry. We recently purchased the Kazuo Tilt Out Shoe Rack in Columbia Walnut Finish (Order ID: 309901961) for nearly ₹8,000, expecting quality craftsmanship. However, the reality was far from it. Upon installation, the shoe rack broke immediately without any pressure—it’s shockingly flimsy, more akin to cardboard than solid wood. For the price paid, this is simply unacceptable. To make matters worse, when we reached out to Pepperfry's customer care, they refused to accept a return, despite the app clearly offering a return option. As loyal customers, we feel completely let down and cheated. I hope Pepperfry reconsiders their approach to both product quality and customer service. It’s crucial that companies take responsibility when they deliver subpar products and fail to honor return policies. Looking forward to a resolution. Does a name have to be fun and interesting to be effective? The short answer: not at all. A functional, clear name can be incredibly effective—especially for brands or services with limited budgets to spend on building awareness. Take, for example, a dryer vent cleaning service called Lint-X. It’s not overly clever or playful, but it’s memorable and crystal clear about what the company does. Compare that to Bake Culture, a bakery located on St. Marks Place in NYC—a street known for its smoke shops and hookah lounges. The name might sound intriguing, but it’s not immediately clear that it’s a bakery rather than, say, a new dispensary. Clever names can spark curiosity, but they can also create confusion. Striking the right balance is key. So, when choosing a name for a new brand or service, consider both functional, straightforward options and more creative, clever ones. You never know which will serve your brand best in the long run. #namingexperts #thenamery #pinksky

Foxtrot and Dom’s Kitchen & Market collectively operated less than 40 stores in just a few markets. The former was just a decade old, while the latter’s first location hadn’t even celebrated three years in business. But when the news hit last week that both retailers, which merged last fall under newly formed parent company Outfoxed Hospitality, had ceased operations, the outpouring of shock, grief and frustration across the industry was enormous. It’s not clear what led to the demise of Foxtrot and Dom's — two retailers that that had seemed so promising. What is clear, however, is that Foxtrot and Dom’s were operating during a tough time for upscale, innovative retailers. Their downfall comes as both consumers and retailers are feeling more pressure than ever to cut costs, pare down and focus on the essentials. Indeed, we’ve entered a period where creative new retail ideas will struggle to flourish against the raw power of large players and the grinding need for efficiency — and it’ll likely only get tougher from here.

Is it last call or just in time? It's early summer. June, I think. Our customer DRKS | Finaste calls me up. "So.. we have an idea. You know these advent calendars you talked about. Could we get some of those?" I would say, "Last call," but I said, "No problem." 😅 With creativity, teamwork (and a sprinkle of magic), we designed and produced the most beautiful advent calendars together and made it in time. In record time! 🕒 "We had a vague idea, but Westpack quickly understood what we wanted and guided us through the entire process—from design to production to delivery. Even with a tight deadline, the team at Westpack, led by Angélique, made it happen. Now that December is here, we're almost sold out. It turned out to be a fantastic idea after all!" - Miriam Burman- Derksen, Founder and owner of DRKS | Finaste The calendars are now filled with FINASTE's unique jewellery - ready to spread Christmas joy to their customers throughout December. ✨ A huge thank you to DRKS | Finaste for trusting us and the fantastic collaboration. It just goes to show that when we work together, even the wildest ideas can become reality—no matter the time crunch! The takeaway? We can definitely make it happen in time, but having a little extra time to work our magic is always a bonus. Translation: It's never too early to plan next year's Christmas calendar! Got an idea you want to bring to life? Don't wait—let's get started! 📞 Wishing everyone a (soon-to-be) Merry Christmas! 🎄 (Need a bit of inspiration? One of the things we have to do is while on site is stress test our parts. This is a magnetic hair net holder made for a restaurant, as you can see they wanted to make sure it could handle a door being slammed into it. And it survived! #3dprint #3dprinting #customsolutions
