#Infographic | As of 2024, the aviation landscape in Africa showcases the dominance of Ethiopian Airlines, boasting the largest fleet size among the continent's airlines with 135 aircraft, according to Business Insider Africa. Following closely behind is Egypt Air with 71 aircraft. Air Algerie ranks third with 55 aircraft. Royal Air Maroc secures the fourth position with 50 aircraft, and lastly, Kenya Airways rounds off the top five with 34 aircraft. Royal Air Maroc CEO Abdelhamid Addou told Arabian Aerospace at this year’s International Air Transport Association (IATA) World Safety and Operations Conference (WSOC) in Marrakech, Morocco, that the airline plans to capitalize on its geographical strength linking Europe with Africa and developing its network in the Middle East. He also addressed the impact of the current geopolitical unrest. Africa: Two African Countries Partner to Create a New Airline to Compete with Air France. In the African aviation sector, two African nations are joining forces to establish a new airline to compete with Air France and several major players.   A Pan-African Vision for Air Transport   The creation of this new airline by the two African countries is reshaping the aviation landscape in Africa and will inevitably lead to a loss of customers for Air France, which operates extensively on the continent.  The new airline is taking off with a pair of Boeing 737-800 aircraft, connecting seven cities in Congo. This venture combines the strengths of both partners: the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) retains control with 51% of the shares, while Ethiopian Airlines contributes operational expertise with 49% ownership. It is a model that blends national sovereignty with international expertise.  This new airline will be called "Air Congo". It results from an alliance between Ethiopian Airlines (Ethiopia) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Then Airpeace came and the tickets have been dropping drastically. The new strategy these foreign airlines have now adopted is to force Airpeace out of the market by dropping their airfare below Airpeace. What we should all consider is that if we help these foreign airlines to succeed by patronizing them because of their lower rates, what will happen is that Airpeace will no longer be able to compete and they will eventually start exploiting us again. Nigerians are one of the most widely traveled anywhere in the world and Airpeace is our only hope against exploitation. #buynigeriantogrowthenaira
