Redundant and feeling rejected? Most of us know that in the last few months a number of large companies in the UK have had to lay off staff. What we don’t know is the personal effect on all those affected. 🥺The loss of self belief. 🥺The loss of trust in any employer. 🤬The bitterness. 😔The self doubt. The repercussions on the teams left behind. If you know someone who is struggling to pick themselves up after redundancy or other employment loss, do pass on my details. Together we will work to ✅rebuild your self esteem ✅remind you of how far you’ve come ✅make a plan for the future. I'm not taking hypothetically... Here's a recent client story (name and context removed for confidentiality)... Take J, who was requested to leave by her employer through no fault of her own, and is slowly rebuilding her faith in herself, now beginning to believe that she is more than worth being employed again. She also unexpectedly now finds herself in the exciting position of not feeling forced to stay in the same sector if it no longer serves her. 😊 Is this you? Someone you know? Let's talk... #redundancy #confidencecoaching #selfbelief

What the fork? What if a couple of hundred thousand (or more) federal employees take the Champions of Talent up on the offer to quit and get paid for the next eight months? Who will deliver all the federal services we need and enjoy? I've met and worked with hundreds, perhaps thousands, of federal employees over the last 25 years ... mostly in law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies, Treasury, Justice, etc. I can't think of one who wasn't dedicated, committed, and capable. Some were more capable than others, of course, but oddly enough, they happen to be actual people, so we should expect differences in capabilities. But the dedication and commitment ... I wish private sector employees had more of both. This blanket approach may serve some purpose of which I'm not aware. But it doesn't seem to be the best way to "deliver the strong, safe and prosperous America that our children deserve" (quoting the President's "America Is Back" narrative on www.whitehouse.gov). What will tomorrow bring? https://www.opm.gov/fork

Veterans bring a unique set of skills and experience that seamlessly connects with local government positions. Their commitment to growth, dedication to everyday deliverables, and ability to adapt with minimal adjustment are no different from hiring internally or onboarding talent from other organizations. If you have the opportunity to welcome a veteran into a role that matches their abilities and fosters both personal and professional growth, seize it. These are individuals who have consistently shown up early, gone above and beyond in their responsibilities, and bring a strong sense of duty to every task. Investing in veterans is investing in your community. Why not bring these dedicated professionals into your team and let their work ethic elevate your organization? #VETERANS #LOCALGOVERNMENT #HIREVETERANS #LEADERSHIP #COMMUNITYINVESTMENT #TRANSFERABLESKILLS #PROFESSIONALGROWTH

It's the time of year when companies are likely to eliminate staff. And, if January 2025 is anything like the last two years, job loss for many is on the horizon. While no one wants to imagine their employment soon ending, not being prepared is worse. https://trib.al/yPUqHtK
