On Linkedin we barely see the reality of an entrepreneurship process so I want to share some thoughts about my journey: Last week we started our 2nd productive cycle at Rising Farms at our 2nd second production facility. in 2023 we grew 5x our installed capacity and to be very honest, we underestimated the challenge. -It was 1,000 times harder than I expected. From dealing with pressure, cash flow, diversifying products and clients to dealing with the weather and so many other unexpected challenges. -There were times when I doubted my capacity as a leader to deal with the project and such a big team on my shoulders. Mentally it was a dark year and a half for me. -Doubt is an essential part of the process of growth and it was hard to deal with it. They never taught me that at school and I studied two top-masters degrees. -Taking good decisions all the time is the most essential part of my role and I am getting better at it, but there is always room for improvement. I want to thank my two co-cofounders for sticking with me Pablo Ricaud, and my team of 500+ people, investors, clients, and suppliers who have understood and supported this journey. Finally, thank you to everyone who didn't believe in me. To those who thought you were putting water to my fire, you only put more gas to it. We are stronger than ever and ready to deal with whatever comes to us this year. We will export 5,000,000 kilograms of produce. Let's keep building the future of food. The best is yet to come.

Entrepreneurship starts with an idea, research, and a lot of trust. Thirteen years ago, our co-founders Roy Gilad and Tara Gilad (IG-Taragilad) brought their idea to life, and since then, Vitality Bowls has paved the way for clean, allergy-friendly eating and nutritious superfoods in communities across the country. As we celebrate our 13th anniversary, hear more from Tara in the clip below about the makings of entrepreneurship, and catch the full episode of Savvy Giving Gal here: https://bit.ly/3XCqWbX

In the locker of San Antonio Spurs, the NBA team you can read: "Whenever I feel like giving up, I think about the stonecutter who takes his hammer and bangs on the rock 100 times without showing a crack. And then at the 101st blow it splits in two. And I know it wasn't the 101st that did it, but all the 100 that came before." Ever felt like you are too busy to celebrate the major wins? That’s us at Flying Fox Ventures. Excellent at spreadsheets. Terrible at social media. In an effort to rebalance, please enjoy this selection of long-overdue portfolio celebrations. 🚀 You’ve spent even less time on social media than me, if you haven’t noticed that JigSpace is the enterprise darling of Apple’s Vision Pro launch. Video in the comments of Tim Cook just casually mentioning their incredible work. 🐛 GOTERRA has delivered its on-site food waste processing system to new clients including the Hyatt Regency in Sydney and Melbourne Airport. AFR article linked in comments. 💊 Pharmacy platform Chemist2U Australia has signed a major distribution deal, helping more Australians source and receive their medications at home. 🍱 Cookaborough’s double sided marketplace is now delivering culturally-sensitive meals to the aged care sector, giving Home Care Package recipients more to chew on than Lite n’ Easy. 🔵 FUL Foods is proving that its nutrient-dense algae is more than just fancy blue food colouring, winning the highly competitive Eurostars Grant to develop a novel iron-rich protein for next-gen plant-based meat. 🤝 InvestorHub raised $4m to take its investor relations platform to the US - joining more than 120 public companies across Australia and the UK who are already using the tools to engage with their shareholder bases. And closest to home, I passed my first roadside random breath test after a massive session on the Heaps Normals. 🍻

Will you be #250? This fall, the Incubator at the Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies - USC Marshall will hit 250 portfolio companies. Let me tell you about one of them. Kaitlin Mogentale joined the Incubator in its first year. Passionate about the environment, Kaitlin chose to focus on solving the problem of waste coming from juiceries. She collected the fruit and vegetable pulp, dehydrated it, and started making it into granola. Late nights at commercial kitchens, experimenting with new packaging, working with Fortune 500 companies, and more. Fast forward, Pulp Pantry (now called Trashy Chips) now makes delicious, nutritious chips made from leftover veggie scraps. Good and good for you. Check them out! I’ll post weekly stories about Incubator members leading up to the application for the next cohort. Think you might be #250? Apply to the Incubator at USC. The link is in the comments.
