Did you know that construction and demolition waste makes up 30% of landfill waste? 🌍 Auckland is aiming to be zero-waste by 2040 and reducing deconstruction waste is a key part of that goal. At Eke Panuku, we’re rethinking the way we remove buildings at their end of their lives or no longer needed. Instead of demolishing, we carefully take them apart to reuse and recycle materials wherever possible. ♻️ This approach isn’t just better for the planet—it’s cost-effective too! In Nelson, thanks to a joint venture, the amount of construction waste ending up in landfill is being greatly reduced. An initiative to recycle as much of the construction waste has meant that more materials are being recovered and reused throughout the community. In looking to improve the situation, suggest we need to be using more metals-based products in building and construction, esp. when you consider 85% of New Zealand’s building and construction steel waste is recycled and repurposed for future use. Aluminium can be recycled indefinitely as reprocessing does not damage its structure. Let's talk rubbish! It's no secret that rubbish is a global issue, particularly construction rubbish. The construction industry accounts for one-third of the world's landfill, making it crucial for the industry to reduce its environmental footprint. Fortunately, some leaders are setting the tone. Stoked to work alongside Jono and PJ, founders of The Waste Project, in collaboration with Nate Alley and Sentinel Homes Waikato. The Waste Project is taking responsibility and driving change by reducing waste by over half on any given job and repurposing the waste into transportable cabins. Be more like The Waste Project.

The demolition process can be environmentally friendly when paired with effective material recovery strategies: 🔄 Material Recovery: During demolition, materials like concrete, metal, and wood can be recovered and reused in new construction projects, reducing the need for virgin materials. ♻️ Sustainable Practices: Implementing green demolition practices minimizes waste and promotes recycling, significantly lowering the environmental footprint of construction activities. 📈 Economic Efficiency: Recycling demolition materials not only cuts down on waste disposal costs but also supports the circular economy by turning waste into valuable resources. Join us in embracing sustainable demolition practices and contribute to a greener future! 🌿 #Demolition #WasteManagement #SustainableConstruction

Did You Know? 🏗️🌍 In the U.S., over 600 million tons of construction and demolition waste are generated each year. That’s twice the amount of municipal solid waste! Here’s how recycling C&D materials can make a difference: • 75% of C&D waste can be recovered and reused! ♻️ • Recycling one ton of wood can save about 2.5 cubic yards of landfill space. • Recycling metal scrap can cut CO2 emissions by 58% compared to producing new metal. • Diverting waste from landfills reduces energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to a more sustainable future. By choosing to recycle, construction and demolition projects can reduce their environmental footprint and contribute to a circular economy. At DTG Recycle, we’re proud to help Eastern Washington businesses adopt sustainable practices by offering efficient, green waste solutions. Let’s work together to make your next project eco-friendly! 🌱 #Sustainability #ConstructionRecycling #WasteReduction #GreenBuilding #DemolitionRecycling #CircularEconomy #EasternWashington #DTGRecycle #ConstructionLife #Demolition #DrywallContractors #FramingContractors #GreenConstruction #WasteReduction #BuildingMaterials #JobsiteSafety #SustainableConstruction #RecycleConstructionWaste #YakimaConstruction #EllensburgContractors #TriCitiesWA #YakimaWA #EllensburgWA #TriCitiesConstruction #CentralWashington #EasternWashington #YakimaBusiness #TriCitiesBusiness #EllensburgBusiness #pnw #pacificnorthwest

As Australia’s waste levy continues to rise—reaching $129.27 per ton in Victoria—reusing materials on construction sites is no longer just an option, it's a necessity. The once-standard practice of hauling demolition waste to landfills and trucking in clean fill is now a costly burden, both in terms of transportation expenses and project delays. Unlike traditional drum systems that can lead to structural damage by pushing material against the walls, ALLU’s design screens material in a way that allows it to float toward the center of the bucket. This innovation ensures durability and efficiency, extending the bucket's lifespan and streamlining material processing. And the advantage? Reduced landfill costs, minimized structural damage, and a more sustainable approach to waste management.
