Bremnes Seashore closes its #Salma product line, laying off 100 workers. The Norwegian #salmonfarming company has decided to discontinue its upmarket "Salma" product line, which has struggled to maintain profitability amid rising raw material prices, increased operational costs, and changing consumer spending habits. 💬 “These economic realities mean we can no longer justify further investment in Salma. I read a news article yesterday about the bankruptcy of Kamupak, an award-winning Finnish manufacturer of recyclable food containers intended for takeaway use. The idea is brilliant and has a significant impact on reducing waste. This is sad from a circular economy and an innovation perspective. Simplifying a complex situation: the market wasn’t ready. This is an unfortunate example of innovation ecosystem risk realisation. Regardless of how great an innovation is, the complete value chain and other players must be aligned and ready, too.
