At El Pollo Loco, we believe in fueling dreams and appetites alike. This #HispanicHeritageMonth, we're highlighting community partnerships that embody the spirit of our fire-grilled chicken – bold, vibrant, and full of goodness. Our recent "Stay Loca" campaign with @LalaRomero inspired young women to embrace healthier lifestyles, with another exciting activation coming this fall. We've also collaborated with local artists to create stunning murals across Los Angeles, adding flavor to our city just like our signature chicken does to your plate. These initiatives remind us that great things happen when we come together – whether it's around a table or in our community. #OrgulloElPolloLoco

If you advise clients on M&A matters such as company sales and don’t have a tax department in your firm you (and your client) may have a problem. The tax clauses in the SPA will need to be reviewed to ensure the risk of unforeseen tax liabilities is fairly allocated between buyer and seller. This work requires a tax specialist to ensure your client is properly protected. Potential issues include: ➡ Time limits on notifying a claim ➡ What must be included in a claim ➡ Exclusions from claims ➡ Who takes charge of the conduct of any claim (always a hotly contested clause) ➡ What information must be included in the disclosure letter in respect of tax matters … and many other issues which are bespoke to each client. We regularly work alongside law firms as part of their team when their clients are selling companies to cover off the tax issues alongside the corporate work. Please do send me a DM if you would like to discuss. If you’re a woman in the M&A world please do come to the next March Women - Women in M&A hike which I am leading on Friday. Details below.
Our Autumn countryside hike for women in M&A is next week. Guests will don sturdy boots and embark on a 3 hour/10k loop through the countryside with a country pub lunch towards the end, before we finish back at Beaconsfield station. When we first ran this event in the Spring, we found that our members really valued the relaxed atmosphere and space for some quality, unrushed 1:1 time with each other. The fresh air and beautiful scenery is a lovely bonus.

Check out my latest blog!
Our recent cooking class, organized by Global Detroit’s Social Cohesion project, brought together residents from East Davison, Banglatown, and Hamtramck to share and learn diverse cooking techniques, highlighting dishes like Aloo Bhorta and Black-American mashed potatoes. It was about more than just food; it was about connecting through culture and stories. Discover how food, and events like this, foster authentic connections between residents, and sparks meaningful conversations, in our latest blogpost, penned by our Social Cohesion Program Manager, Destine Brown. While our Community Impact Framework guides how we allocate funding, our Strategic Imperatives guide how WE, as an organization, carry ourselves on the journey. What does this mean? It means we’ll always strategically invest resources where they matter most—nurturing a generation that thrives, learns, and dreams. It means that collaboration isn't merely a concept; it's the very essence of our impact and that strengthening our partners is essential to our work. It means that for us, honoring community isn’t just about acknowledging diversity; it’s ensuring that community voices shape our actions, fostering an inclusive, impactful approach. And as we follow the three imperatives above, we’re going to strive for efficiency within our organization so that every decision, every action, is geared toward maximizing our impact for #JacksonCountyKids. #YourQuarterOfAPenny #CommunityImpact #HolisticWellbeing

Many "impact claims" lack transparency and beneficiary involvement. This raises a critical question: Are we genuinely Impacting our community? We believe in community insights, empowering them to define their needs and track real-time progress toward measurable goals. Join us in building a future where impact is verified by its beneficiaries. Let's measure our impact, together. #impactwashing #sustainability #community #transparency #makeadifference
