Everyone will feel the impact of cancer in their lifetime. That could be through facing a diagnosis themselves, or because a loved one or friend is affected. Today 384,000 cancer cases are diagnosed each year in the UK, that’s about 7 every 10 minutes - about the time it took me to write this post. If current UK trends continue, diagnoses will rise to over half a million by 2040, around a third more, with a quarter more cancer deaths; 208,000 each year. That’s why I’m doing 100 push-ups a day throughout April to help raise money for Cancer Research UK (CRUK). Please show your support and help fund lifesaving research by donating to my page. It will take you a few minutes and will be a lot less painful than my April. If you would like to, please dedicate your donation to someone, I see that my husband did just that. Because everyone will feel the impact of cancer in their lifetime. #CancerResearchUK #FightCancer #PushUpsChallenge #Fundraising #DonateNow #MakeADifference #ThankYou

Hi everyone! I’m back to report that I’ve just completed the 100 Squats a Day Challenge in August for Cancer Research UK (CRUK).🎉 I had a fun time, and I would like to believe that I have learned and grown a lot through this experience, so I wanted to write about it, partially as a way to remind myself of what I experienced and learned through the process of completing this challenge. Before the challenge even started, I knew I would be having a hard time completing it. I’m not athletic and I don’t exercise regularly, so I decided to practice beforehand. At first, I was only able to do around 30 squats a day, and my thighs hurt so much I had trouble moving around, but they say it gets better so I persevered. Once the pain started to disappear, I decided to gradually increase my daily number of squats. However, it was almost August, yet I couldn’t seem to get any closer to 100. So I looked up ways to increase my daily squat count. I read that it’s easier to divide the number of squats and do smaller chunks throughout the day. So I tried it and was finally able to do 100 squats in one day, just in time for the challenge to start. What awaited me after starting the challenge; however, was another obstacle. There were days when I felt too tired or too lazy to do the challenge, but then I would force myself to at least do a few squats, which made it easier for me to continue afterwards. Learning from that, I decided to do most of my squats in the morning when I just woke up and had the most energy and motivation. It then became a lot easier for me to finish my daily squats and the challenge as a whole. Although today marks the last day of the challenge, my giving page will continue to remain open for some time afterwards. So far, I’ve only been able to raise half my fundraising target, so please consider donating to my page (https://lnkd.in/eigEYpjk) or donating directly to Cancer Research UK (CRUK). All the money will help them research more ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. If you can’t donate, you can also help just by spreading the word.

1 day to go!!!!!!! Any amount – big or small – will make a real, tangible difference. You can donate anonymously or send money to my PayId or use the link below 🙏🏻. https://lnkd.in/grR25Ref *Why I'm taking part* Blood cancer is Australia's hidden cancer crisis. There are 140,000 families facing blood cancer right now. And it takes the lives of 16 Australians every day. These numbers are set to double by 2035. Unless we do something about it. That's why I've signed up for the World's Greatest Shave. I'm raising funds for the Leukaemia Foundation to give Australians facing blood cancer life-changing practical and emotional support. And to fund critical research, bringing us closer to the day when zero lives are lost to blood cancer. Will you be part of my World's Greatest Shave community and donate to my page? Your donation means that together, we're working to stop blood cancer in its tracks. Any amount – big or small – will make a real, tangible difference.
