SHOWING OUR SUPPORT | #ElbitAmerica is proud to help celebrate and support the legacy of United States Congresswoman Kay Granger (TX-12). At a November 18 event in Washington, D.C., a new portrait of Granger was revealed to the public that was painted by Jeffrey Bass. It's a powerful depiction of Granger's tenure as the U.S. House of Representatives Appropriations Committee Chairwoman and will hang in the Committee’s main hearing room. Granger is a leader in national defense and global security, and champions our nation's military. She is also a longtime supporter of Elbit Systems of America, as our headquarters reside in Texas' 12th District. I look at all six of these efforts and it's easy to see, (Respectfully) minimal input and participation by young SMs was exercised. Young SMs' quality of life is more than "gathering data" and "Wi-Fi". Also, Quality Housing (on post) has been a major issue for over 20 years. Are these two challenges to big, ambiguous, or challenging to correct? The other four efforts mostly have qualitative and quantitative actions and goals. 🤔
"Early in my tenure as secretary of defense, I made taking care of our people a top priority," Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III wrote in his Sept. 13 memorandum "Our Enduring Duty to America's Service Members and Their Families." Austin announced new initiatives meant to ensure the well-being and success of service members so they can better focus on their part of the defense mission. "Doing right by our all-volunteer joint force and their families is a core readiness issue. Taking care of our people is fundamental to the department's ability to recruit and retain the most talented American patriots and to ensure that the U.S. military remains the most lethal fighting force on the planet — and it is simply the right thing to do." in my latest episode, I share a concern related to the issue of the Space National Guard....the push by its opponents for a Federal only, single component service is a push for the consolidation of military power from the Constitutional, State-Federal balanced model to one alien to our system. Are the American people and their representatives in the States wanting to see their influence and checks on military power go away? National Institute for Deterrence Studies https://lnkd.in/eWb-dwh6

Do what you say you're going to do. That's leadership, and it starts with character. It also builds trust, a necessary element in elite performance and paramount to the success of #OperationJedburgh. For the first time, their story is told by those who live their legacy: current leaders of the U.S. Army Special Forces Green Berets, including Command Chief Warrant Officer of the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Gary Ostrander, and former Commanding General of the United States Army Special Operations Command, LTG(R) Ken Tovo. This is the story of Operation Jedburgh. D-Day: June 6, 1944. The Allied invasion along the beaches of France changed the course of World War II and set the world order for the next 80 years. As the conventional forces landed, America’s first Special Forces units operated deep behind enemy lines. Three-man teams consisting of one American, one French, and one British operator parachuted deep into occupied France starting the night before D-Day. Their mission: to link up and partner with French Resistance forces to conduct sabotage, subversion, and disruption attacks to prevent the German Army from reinforcing the beaches of Normandy during Operation Overlord. Win at all costs. Post-World War II, American Jedburghs went on to form the foundation of the Central Intelligence Agency and later the United States Army Special Forces Green Berets. HAPPY MONDAY/HAPPY ARMED FORCES DAY!!!!! On this day in 1950, President Harry S. Truman established Armed Forces Day. Peering through literature reviews gives you a different view of those who served. When you FOCUS, you find that these leaders cared about the military. The theme of the first Armed Forces Day was “Teamed for Defense,” and it had a three-fold mission: 1. To celebrate and recognize all Americans serving in uniform, as well as those who had served before. 2. To bring citizens closer to their military by hosting base open houses and public displays of new military technology. 3. To promote the unity of the military services established in the National Security Act of 1947. #A1CLorenzoRWilson

In honor of Veteran's Day, our facilitator of the employee resource group Coalition Veterans, Blake Feldman, shared his experience transitioning from the military to a civilian workforce. "While the imagery of home, family, and friends can be joyous, there’s also a sense of deep loss as a veteran learns to deal with the fact that their military service is only a chapter in the book of their whole life." Read the full Q&A to learn how employers can improve the transition for veterans and how we can overcome challenges that result from unconscious bias: https://bit.ly/4emneJO
