The Design of Urban Spaces ++ [physical environments] The design of urban spaces—like the shapes of buildings, the organization of streets, and the ways natural landscapes are integrated or excluded—reflects the mindset and aspirations of a society. The intricate relationship between urban environments and human consciousness. It suggests that cities are not just physical spaces but are also manifestations of cultural values, historical contexts, and human intentions. This echoes a broader philosophical idea that our environments influence our thoughts, behaviors, and cultural narratives, suggesting a dynamic interplay between the physical and the mental realms.
Designing spaces that reflect on the profound transitions of existence requires embracing uncertainty and letting ideas flow organically. This crematorium design explores nothingness as a spatial experience—creating a datum that bridges connection and disconnection, life and death, being and non-being.
