What Are Dialog Layers in Storyline and Why Use Them? 🎄✨ Dialog layers in Storyline overlay the entire browser window and dim other content, ensuring a consistent and accessible navigation experience for all learners, including those using screen readers. Why Use Dialog Layers? 🎁 - Keep learners focused on specific messages or interactions. - Prevent engagement with other course elements while active. How to Add a Dialog Layer: 1- In ‘Slide View’, create or select a layer. 2- Click the ‘Properties’ icon in the Layer Panel. 3- From the ‘Behaviour’ dropdown, choose ‘Present as: Dialog’. By default, learners can’t click other layers, and you can choose to pause the base layer’s timeline. Dialog layers are simple yet powerful, perfect for guiding learners and creating a seamless experience. Use them to focus attention, deliver critical information, or add festive flair to your course! 🎄✨ #Accessibility #Storyline #InclusiveDesign #HolidayCheer #eLearning #InstructionalDesign #Storyline #HolidayFun #InteractiveLearning #FestiveTips #Lightboxes #OL #12DaysOfChristmas #ProTip

Today's (visual) thoughts. I think from this list, my favorite is the content learners can *take* with them. When I complete a course or training session as a learner, it's very unlikely that I'm going to revisit the original training if I have questions or want to reference something from the session. I don't have the time to scroll and find the right section in the course, or the right spot in the video. But want to know what I would absolutely do? If I had somewhere to take notes and record thoughts and questions during the session, I most likely saved that to my desktop or drive and I WILL reference that! Same goes for infographics or reference guides. These small additions to our trainings take little effort on our part, and can be very beneficial for our audience in the long-run. Or maybe everyone else is revisiting the courses and training videos and bookmarking timestamps and.... maybe.... maybe this is a me problem 🤣 #instructionaldesign #instructionaldesigner #learningdesign

Ever taken an online course and felt confused after a few lessons? Many courses overwhelm learners with too much info, poor structure, or boring content. When a learner doesn’t finish a course, it hurts their progress and the credibility of the creator. This often leaves learners feeling lost, frustrated, and like they didn’t get what they signed up for. As a course designer, I’ve seen how this can affect both learners and businesses. A great online course isn’t just about teaching, it’s about transforming the learner’s experience. When you build a course that’s clear, engaging, and results-driven, your audience will remember you and your brand will grow. P.S. Check the comment section to read what I have learned as a course designer Happy weekend guys 🌹
