Is the cloud still worth it? As Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google raise prices, IT admins are rethinking the value of cloud services. According to a recent report by UK-based Civo, over a third of organizations believe their cloud move hasn't delivered on cost-effectiveness, with more than 50% reporting increased bills. While it's clear the cloud isn't going anywhere, it's time for businesses to re-evaluate its ROI and consider whether it would be beneficial to move some workloads away from cloud vendors. But there are lots of practical ways to reduce your Microsoft Azure monthly bill. And they may be simpler than you think.  1. Set up cost alerts Setting up Azure cost alerts will allow you to monitor usage in a more budget-friendly way. It's automated, so you're alerted immediately if you go over your set thresholds and spending limits. 2. Tag Azure resources To keep further tabs on your resources, tag them with an assigned budget code to will help you identify resources that are meant to be in your environment. 3. Govern your Azure usage Azure's governance capabilities allow you to assign policies, analyse spending, and encourage accountability across your business.
