There is no single source of truth in attribution. Yes, people have been telling this for years. And yes, I was guilty about that as well. But there will never be a "one model to explain them all" for attribution. Especially not today, when data identification is lower than ever. So, there is no single source of truth, and no simple tool will handle your attributions. This might sound like bad news - but to be true - these are good news. It lifts the curtain of the wrong belief that "attribution is just another tool you need." What do you need to do? You need to make attribution a core asset of your marketing operations. It will require resources to learn about your attribution setup. How do you learn? Ask the product and CRO folks - By experimentation or, in attribution terms, incrementation by combining insights from different methods (multi-touch, mmm, post-purchase surveys) to get a more complete picture. Is it easy - nah - does it give you a significant edge over your competition when you master it - you bet.
