🌳 Celebrating a Milestone for Vietnam's Forests and Communities 🌳 We are thrilled to share that the "Contributing Leaves for Regreening Forests—For a Green and Sustainable Vietnam" project, a collaboration between Vietnam Airlines, MoMo, and PanNature, has been recognized with the Sustainable Development Idea Award at the prestigious Human Act Prize 2024! 🏆 This initiative is more than just planting trees—it's about creating lasting impact. Launched on World Environment Day 2024, the project has already achieved: ✅ 35,000 trees planted ✅ 53 hectares of forest restored in Hang Kia – Pa Co Nature Reserve (Hoa Binh) and Van Ho (Son La). ✅ Over 100 hectares of forest restored in 2024 alone through strong community and corporate collaboration. The Human Act Prize celebrates initiatives like ours that bring communities and organizations together to create meaningful, sustainable change. 🌱 At PanNature, we’re proud to lead technical implementation, mobilize resources, and engage local communities in reforestation efforts. Together with partners like Vietnam Airlines and MoMo, we are restoring ecosystems, enhancing biodiversity, and supporting local livelihoods. This recognition motivates us to continue working toward our ambitious goal of restoring 500 hectares of natural forest by 2032. This #EarthDay we want to shout out some of the amazing environmental work that AMBITIOUS clients are up to... GlobalGiving UK’s tireless work vetting and advocating for local causes makes it easy for companies and philanthropists to make climate impact from all over the world using their dedicated Climate Action fund, covering local projects from around the world including agroforestry in Borneo, conserving coral reefs in Malaysia, tree planting in Madagascar and many more. Barwood Capital recently published its latest Impact Report and over the next year has committed to launching a road map to Net Zero, calculating scope one, two and three emissions for all live commercial developments and residential projects, as well as delivering its first net zero carbon in construction and operation logistics development in Nottingham. Acorn Property Group employ a ‘fabric first’ approach to its developments to improve the thermal performance of the new homes. The developer uses construction methods, materials and technologies to improve heat retention or even generate heat. The outcome is lower carbon, low maintenance homes that reduce the running costs for the homeowner. #EarthDay2024 #ClimateAction #Sustainability

This month, I had the privilege of traveling back to Cambodia—a country of incredible beauty and resilience—to visit my family. During this time, me and my wife, Chanrita Srey, a fellow sustainability professional, connected with local sustainability and development leaders to learn about their efforts to build resilience, conserve Cambodia’s pristine primary forests, and drive equitable progress. These conversations were humbling and deeply enriching, offering a unique window into the challenges and opportunities shaping Cambodia’s sustainable future. Here are some key takeaways from these discussions: • Renewable Energy Progress: Over 52% of Cambodia’s energy is already renewable, with the potential for significant expansion. The country is even exploring the possibility of exporting power to Singapore. • Policy Challenges for Solar: Manufacturers face policy barriers that disincentivize rooftop solar installations. Extra charges for using solar energy (meant to protect investments in the national grid) and the resulting uncertainty that they cause remain key roadblocks. • Opportunities in Energy Efficiency: In the garment sector, there’s vast potential for cost-effective, high-impact decarbonization through basic energy efficiency measures. • Deforestation and Energy Transition: Cambodia has one of the highest deforestation rates globally but also some of the largest remaining primary forests in SE Asia. Preservation efforts and a transition to cleaner energy are vital, as part of the deforestation is linked to wood use in garment industry boilers. • Carbon Trading Initiatives: Cambodia is advancing carbon trading, with a manual for Article 6.2 already in place and ITMO projects underway. Notably, one project has already received a Letter of Authorization (LoA). • Empowering Local Efforts: Many international organizations and NGOs adopt a one-way knowledge transfer approach that often undermines local agency. More collaborative, less risk-adverse methods are essential to fostering sustainable progress while respecting local expertise. Cambodia, like many nations disproportionately affected by climate change, contributes little to its causes. Yet, its resilience and ability to adapt, demonstrated by its recovery from the devastating genocide in the 70s, position it as a potential sustainability leader in Southeast Asia. With rich natural resources, including well-preserved wild spaces and abundant sunshine, Cambodia has a remarkable opportunity to lead by example. Thank you to everyone in Phnom Penh who shared their time and insights with us. We left inspired and motivated to support and learn from the sustainability efforts in the Kingdom of Wonder! Special thanks to: Virak Ou (Cambodia), Silke Neugebohrn, Phanith Chou, Sophea Lun, Srun Srey Ny, & Barry Jones,

Today, the first-ever Restoring and Sustaining Landscapes Together (RESULT) Asia-Pacific Investment Forum is taking place in Bangkok, Thailand. Organised by the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, this forum aims to enhance investments in Forest and Landscape Restoration under the RESULT Asia-Pacific framework, which seeks to restore 100 million hectares of degraded landscapes across the region by 2030. At the event, James Bampton, Regional Forest Lead at WWF Asia-Pacific, shared a compelling success story from Viet Nam. Highlighting the transformative impact of responsible forest management under the WWF and IKEA partnership, he noted: “Showcasing the WWF and IKEA Partnership is important to remind everyone that Forest and Landscape Restoration is much more than planting trees. Active responsible forest management in appropriate parts of a landscape, driven by responsible supply chains, can contribute to restoring nature and climate benefits whilst supporting livelihoods, and it could be done at scale.” 🎥🎞️ Watch our inspiring journey here: https://lnkd.in/dyPqQfJT WWF-Viet Nam Learn more about the RESULT Asia-Pacific Investment Forum: https://lnkd.in/d_xitGcG

We believe in taking actionable steps towards a sustainable future, and that's one reason we took out a sub with Carma to plant trees. It's great to see our small contribution build over time! 🌳🌳🌳 So far, this has led to the planting of more than 500 trees, removing around 169 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere. We get to see where our trees are – it's good to know that they are helping reforestation in Mozambique, Madagascar, and Kenya. Plus, we opted to add some UK trees, helping fund new tree planting to support local biodiversity. It's so simple to do – a quick signup to a subscription and a sense of satisfaction. Carma is dedicated to making environmental and social impact simple and affordable, enhancing communities through reforestation and work projects. 💚 We love being part of creating a greener future. 🌍 Visit carma.earth and join us in supporting Carma’s mission! #Sustainability #Reforestation #GreenFuture #ClimateAction #trees
