We analyzed the average time spent in concept instruction versus fluency-based practice for 8 of our learners: 4 enrolled in reading and 4 enrolled in math. These learners spent twice as much session time practicing as compared to learning new concepts. The result? An average gain of 46 percentile ranks on standard academic assessments....accomplished in a matter of minutes! Schools spend most of the time introducing new concepts and very little time practicing skills to mastery. This is why a majority of kids are below proficiency in all academic subjects!
