887,000 A Level exam entries this year, up 80,000 since 2019. This compares to 7,380 T Level results today. Seems inevitable the negative approach to BTECs, and T Levels being great but niche (very specialised), means A Levels will continue to prosper at expense of both as safer option. If anything, T Levels seem to have confirmed A Levels as the dominant qualification route for anyone doing well at GCSE? The pause and review therefore very sensible from DfE if our aim is to enhance appeal of technical education
