🎆 Happy birthday Stiftelsen för strategisk forskning, SSF 🎆 Celebrating with dedicated featured articles in Framtidens Forskning Similar to personal independence, academic independence is contingent on the availability of means of support that allow you to leave the nest and follow your ambitions. With the research grants bestowed for my Ph.D within the SwedNess Research School first and for my postdoc in view of future European Spallation Source ERIC utilization after, SSF has laid the foundation for my entire career as a large-scale facility expert, allowing me to explore a variety of research topics, create new opportunities for the use of neutron-based experimental methods, and build bridges across disciplines. Thanks to SSF I could embark on an exciting new chapter, shifting from solid state condensed matter physics to soft condensed matter for climate change mitigation applications. Characterizing this type of materials presents challenges due to their complex, hierarchical structures, dynamic behavior, and lack of long-range order compared to crystalline solids. Investigation techniques must be capable of resolving multiple length scales, capturing temporal changes, and probing disordered structures effectively. Addressing these challenges requires a multi-disciplinary approach integrating advanced imaging, spectroscopy, scattering methods, and computational modeling, all of which is part of the project I am carrying out between the Department of Materials and Environmental Chemistry (MMK) at Stockholm University and the PSI Paul Scherrer Institut. What the future holds is not for me to know, but I certainly embrace and enjoy the remarkable journey I am on today. #ResearchGrant #SoftMatter #NeutronScience #ESS #AcademicJourney #Nanocellulose
