Some dates are always special such as today, the date when we launched Silver Talkies Club six years ago in 2018, based on the inputs from attendees of our events. They wanted to meet more often, know their co-participants better and have more fun and engaging opportunities. Hence Silver Talkies Club was born in a time and age when active ageing, loneliness and isolation among older adults were not spoken about or discussed much in our country. I was in fact told by many peers that I was playing in a small niche field. Fast forward to 2024, almost every new player in the senior care space is looking at addressing similar issues with similar models. Did we start too early or did they start too late? I think it is immaterial for as they say that all's well that ends well. What is most heartening for me is to note that in the pic below all the people who became members in 2018 are still members in 2024, with the exception of one member whom we lost a few months ago. It's always a party at Door No. 3! Hat tip for celebrating 30 years in business. I'm grateful to be part of writing this current chapter. From a new business perspective, it's no small feat to grow an agency. For 30 years, no less. Striking the right balance of growth is a delicate dance. Providing excellent care for your existing clients while running ahead to cultivate new clients. Building a sticky culture where top talent wants to stay while creating demand to grow the bench. Marketing for others, while also marketing for yourself. Staying heads down in the work while staying up on constantly evolving trends. You get it. Holding all of these tensions is the daily work of growth. It's the daily inputs, those little disciplines that compound over time. Keep at it today!

Indeed, an interactive evening spent on understanding #ArtificialIntelligence & its interactions with Business & Cognitive Intelligence. Some wonderful examples of chutney & dogs (!!) to understand #AI with humour! My 2 key learnings: 1. Instead of hire-to-retire #employeeexperience, let's look at it as candidate-to-alumni experience (incl. suppliers' ecosystem) to see where AI can support BI & CI. 2. AI as a super-highway: either be afraid or let it empower you. Interesting use cases of a) AI helping HR/managers to understand overall skill sets of employees (even those developed on own time) to help with IJP & retention; b) identifying moments that AI can transform to #automated nudges in #personalized manner. Another highlight was accidentally sitting next to Dr. TV Rao, saying hello out of habit, slow realization who I just said hello to & then forgetting how to speak! It’s been exactly 10 days since Visarjan now, and I’ve been thinking about the whole experience- Every year, I eagerly wait for Ganpati Bappa to arrive. The decorations, the energy, the sense of togetherness - it all feels magical. But, as the days pass and the time for Visarjan comes, there's always this bittersweet feeling. This year, while watching the visarjan, something clicked. It reminded me of management in the most unexpected way. When Bappa arrives, we prepare with excitement, planning every detail to make sure everything goes smoothly. It's just like launching a new project or leading a team -  we give it our best, ensuring everything is in place. But then, just as Bappa's stay is temporary, so is every project or decision we make. No matter how attached we are, there’s a point where we have to let go, trusting that the work we've put in will carry us forward. Ganpati Visarjan isn’t just about saying goodbye. It's about knowing when to release control, celebrate the journey, and make space for new beginnings. Either it's Bappa or a project, it gives us long-lasting memories. ✨ So, as I watched Bappa make his way into the water, I realized this - A great leader always know when to hold on and when to let go.
