This should be considered as the future and potential good working solution to reduce installation costs, and manufacture costs. - Only negative, with more moving parts, means more maintenance, which means when 1 fails they both fail! What is you thoughts ? #windpower #windenergy #floatingwind #maritime #offshore

📣 New month, new wind turbine artwork! ➡️ Introducing “Still life with wind turbine”. An ordinary set up, with out-of-the-ordinary detail. Unfortunately, what’s also very out-of-the-ordinary, are the autumn wind conditions💨 (and weather conditions in general). The wind in Western Europe is a bit too ‘still’. Autumn & winter winds, bring them on! ⚡️💨 #StillLifeWithWindTurbine #VasePoirePommeEolienne #StillevenMetWindturbine

60 tons of debris in the ocean after failure of only 1 of the 3 blades on each offshore wind turbine. Imagine the potential impact of the approximate 300 turbines = 900 blades proposed for the west coast...
Six months after 1 blade failed and 60 tons of fiberglass and styrofoam went into the ocean off Nantucket, debris is still washing ashore on their local beaches. If the proposed wind turbines are constructed off the coast of San Luis Obispo County, California - we will experience the same thing on our pristine beaches.

A common misconception is that wind farms are bad for birds. Well, ok, yes bird collisions do unfortunately happen. But what’s less understood is the extent to which that happens. Neither are many people aware that wind operators actually go as far as shutting their turbines down to minimise the risk of migrating birds colliding with their turbines, nor that there are already several ongoing research projects to find ways to reduce that risk even further. In Vattenfall’s latest project, thermal cameras will record bird collisions at Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm in research starting this August. The project will record the number of collisions as well as flight patterns and weather conditions which cause birds to fly closer to wind farms. The idea is that this will help wind farm operators plan ‘bird shutdowns’ more accurately - reducing the risk to birds as well as the amount of back-up generation (often using fossil-fuels) required to meet consumer demand in the meantime. #windfarms #workingforfossilfreedom #birds

Support your local fisherman and the sea life, including the many whales killed by the installation of wind turbines. Wind turbines should not be installed in the ocean. The impacts of falling blades bring fiberglass and shards of metal into the ocean, affecting all sea life and closing beaches for miles around the damaged turbine due to possible injury to people walking on the beach. Not to mention that wine turbines also can leak oil that will go into the ocean. Protect our oceans. Do what you can to stop the installation of wind turbines on the ocean.
As concerns mount over the July collapse of one Vineyard Wind turbine blade, a “flotilla” of about two dozen commercial and recreational fishing vessels steamed to the wind farm on Sunday to protest offshore wind development and its impact on the marine ecosystem.
