I often get reached out by a lot of restauranteurs to help in growing their business through marketing. I make sure to do this and ask these questions. Might be helpful for all my restauranteur friends. Before making a marketing plan for a restaurant, consider asking these key questions: 1. Restaurant Background: How many years has the restaurant been operating, and what’s its story? (e.g., using a mother’s recipe to create curiosity). 2. Location Analysis: What is the restaurant’s location, and does it align with the target food market? 3. Customer Experience: How do guests react to the food and ambiance? What’s the general feedback? 4. Marketing and Engagement: Are you active on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok? Do you use keywords and behind-the-scenes content to engage with your audience? 5. Customer Retention and Acquisition: What strategies are in place to increase visit frequency and attract new customers? (e.g., frequency programs, special promotions like 'Free Food Fridays for downtime hours' or 'first-time customer discounts'). If you are a marketing enthusiast and think I missed out something important, I would love to know more about it in the comments below. #RestaurantMarketing #MarketingPlan #RestaurantPromotions #BusinessGrowth #FoodTech

Ever dreamt of opening your own Restaurant or Cafe?🍽️☕ I certainly have! As someone who practically lives for food (seriously, food is life), I know the power of great marketing. Sometimes, I've picked restaurants solely based on their marketing—even when the food wasn’t that great. My restaurant, however, would be the best of both worlds: incredible food and stellar marketing. Here’s how I’d approach the marketing for my future restaurant or cafe: 🔍Competitor Analysis: Analyze local competitors to understand their strengths and weaknesses. Use this insight to craft a unique strategy. 📊Market Research: Identify your target audience and tailor your marketing to meet their needs. 🎨Brand Identity: Develop a strong brand identity with a clear message. This helps build recognition and loyalty. 📱Digital Presence: Build a user-friendly website, create engaging social media profiles, and ensure your business is listed on platforms like Google My Business. 🍽️Unique Selling Proposition (USP): Highlight what makes your restaurant/cafe different to attract customers. 📣Local Community Engagement: Participate in local events and collaborate with other businesses to generate buzz and build a loyal customer base, because loyalty=repetitive customers. 📈Promotional Campaigns: Launch targeted promotional campaigns, offering special discounts, loyalty programs, and referral incentives. 🔄Feedback Loop: Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve the customer experience. Starting a Restaurant or Cafe is about blending creativity with strategy. What strategies would you consider essential?🤔💭 #RestaurantMarketing #CafeStartup #MarketingStrategy #BrandIdentity #CustomerEngagement

If a person who is already full goes to a restaurant, they will pay attention to the atmosphere of the restaurant, how the food is decorated, and how it is cooked. However, a person who is hungry will only care about the food and satisfying their hunger. This is why everyone's perspective on similar issues is different, and each person constructs their inner world based on their needs. It's as if each mind is a separate world unto itself, and each world is foreign to the other. For example, what you see in each person and what attracts or repulses you to them depends on your own inner world. And your complex world is still under construction and changing, from the time you were just a zygote to the present day. The text about the full vs. hungry person at a restaurant connects to marketing in a few key ways: Understanding Your Audience: Just like the hungry person only cares about food, your customers have specific needs and wants. Marketing is all about understanding those needs and tailoring your message accordingly. Customer Segmentation: Similar to splitting the restaurant patrons into "full" and "hungry," you can segment your audience into groups with similar needs. Then, you can craft targeted messages for each segment. Creating Content: Just like the hungry person wouldn't be interested in fancy plateware content, you should create content that addresses your customer's specific problems and interests. Building Relationships: By understanding your customer's perspective, you can connect with them on a deeper level, building trust and loyalty. This is essential for long-term success in business. In fact, people see the world differently based on their needs. In marketing, you need to understand your audience's "inner world" to effectively connect with them. #marketing #business #smallbusiness #entrepreneur

In The Restaurant Industry, There's Only 2 Things That Matter... REACH and FREQUENCY I mentioned Reach and Frequency in a previous post and several asked me to pontificate. Been dying to use that word in a sentence. 1. Did you REACH the prospective guest with a message that caused them to engage. Caused them to take action. Caused their "First Visit". 2. Then did perceived value of the first visit (menu, quality, process, facility, people), generate FREQUENCY. Did that first visit become one of many? It's really that simple. I also mentioned Reach WITHOUT Frequency, and stated that if Frequency is not happening, your marketing arm is better off not spending a single dime on advertising because it is a complete waste of hard earned profit. The cost of acquisition, campaign, training, supply chain, new ingredients, discount... all combine to cost more than the profit made on that single visit. It's a demoralizing burden on the P&L. It's the proverbial "one step forward, two steps back". Reach WITHOUT Frequency is the absolute primary reason brands go out of business. And it's a slow ugly process because without using deep analytics, it is not openly obvious. It's like trying to notice dust building up one day at a time. Each layer is invisible. This is why using data down to each guest at every location can help illuminate the truth around brand event impact. Help identify the WHY behind what happened so you can stop doing what is wrong, and magnify what you're doing right. Pretty easy when you use fact-based data versus emotion & guesswork. Make Reach AND Frequency the first topic of every meeting at every level. Your employees will appreciate understanding how it impacts the brand's ability to grow revenue, which generates their ability to earn.
