Stop celebrating your team with generic compliments. Half-hearted praises such as “nice work” and “good job” can apply to anyone. Instead of these generic remarks, try to be specific when praising team members on LinkedIn. People feel the most valued when the praise is direct and precise. Next time you want to recognize a team member on LinkedIn, here are three things to include: 1. What did they do? Detail the actual task or accomplishment. 2. What impact did they have? Describe how their work positively impacted the organization. 3. What values/traits did they demonstrate? Outline their unique approach and style. Make your praise as great as their achievements - bland accolades don’t cut it.

Celebrating Team Milestones 🎉 Over the course of my recent roles, I've made it a point to remember my team members' birthdays and work anniversaries (thankfully, HR systems make this pretty easy these days!). I like to take a moment to send a quick note to the team, whether it’s via Slack or another channel, acknowledging these special moments. 🌟 Reflecting on the value of visibility and recognition in the workplace 🌟 In any team setting, it’s easy for work to move quickly, and sometimes, the behind-the-scenes contributions that keep everything running smoothly might go unnoticed. Recently, I’ve been reminded of the importance of making sure that the efforts we put in are seen—not for the sake of recognition alone, but because every person’s unique input deserves its place. In my role, I’ve learned that being proactive, vocal, and documenting progress can go a long way. It ensures that projects are not only executed successfully but that team members are empowered to showcase their work in the right light. It’s taught me a lot about owning my role and not shying away from putting my contributions forward. Whether we’re at the start of our career or further along, I think it’s essential to advocate for ourselves, find supportive colleagues who recognize our value, and always look for ways to demonstrate the impact we’re making. 🔗

I’m reminded daily of the power of empathy in building a strong, cohesive team. When we understand and appreciate each other's roles, we create an environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Employees work tirelessly to ensure every detail is handled, balancing accuracy and customer care, often under immense pressure. Without them, there is no business. Leadership, on the other hand, navigates the bigger picture, making strategic decisions that impact our future. Their guidance and vision are crucial for our success. Without them, there is no business. Take a moment to appreciate each other’s contributions. A note of gratitude, a smile in passing, or a genuine conversation can make a world of difference.
