The smile of our CEO Antoine this morning testing Apple’s Vision Pro at our offices says it all about its potential for “immersive knowledge access” for our customers and more broadly the future of work for all organisations. ✨ The user experience compared to other VR/AR headsets I tested and the integration with Apple’s ecosystem, which are just the beginning, already impresses. It is easy to now see how augmented use cases for knowledge management (KM) can quickly become reality (among numerous others) – augmented through AI and immersive through AR. - Onboarding new employees navigating their way through offices with overlay information about their colleagues, the company’s history, updates,.. - Instant knowledge base access overlaid in their work environment with manuals, guidelines or expert advice at a glance without the need to search. - Enhanced safety and compliance by giving immediate location-based access to maintenance or safety procedures. - Innovative collaboration spaces and revitalising company culture - values and company/team energy can be brought to life interactively both when physically at the organisation’s offices or while working remote. As a firm believer in the value of human interactions and presence to the contribution of an organisation's performance and individual welfare, this is of course one more step in the direction of further virtualising our work environment. However, it raises many questions of potential loss of physical/human interaction, dependence on technology, information overload, ethical and privacy concerns around surveillance/tracking, need adaptation of employees, lack of access/exclusion of certain demographics, among other concerns. With Apple’s Vision Pro and #ai, as with all new products, it's not just the technology that should impress us but the experiences created with it. Technology is best when it brings people together, serving merely as a tool. These tech evolutions will never replace the need for leadership; in fact, they will make it more indispensable than ever. They also ever more underline the importance in investing in both your people and knowledge capital. Echoing Bill Gates insight, “Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important.” #augmentedreality #km #knowledgemanagement #futureofwork #ai #applevisionpro
