I love feeling fired up → But it's not easy to do alone → Sure you can listen to music, read quotes, etc. → But it won't always get that motivation pumping But you know what DOES? → People Every single time. It's people. It's community. This is exactly why Darren and I formed Brand Built → Yes, you learn about Brand Growth → Yes, you learn about better business strategies → Of course our classroom rocks and education is elite → And absolutely, we have tons of meeting with amazing minds But you know what keeps us going? → It's the people → The personal connection → Crazy active discussion boards EVERY SINGLE DAY → People chime in. → People support one another → People are incredibly selfess and kind And THIS is why our community thrives and keeps growing. → THIS is why our community won't die. → It's only going to get stronger. The words that hit hardest: Aren't the ones that hurt. But the ones we never say. "You inspired me to keep going" "Your work changed how I think" "You helped me believe in myself" 5 small words. 2 quick seconds. Lifetime of impact. Look around you: That mentor who guided you That friend who supported you That colleague who believed in you Did you tell them? Because someone right now is: → Doubting their path → Questioning their impact → Close to giving up And your words? They could be the difference. Don't wait. Don't assume they know. Thought success meant making millions & being featured in Forbes. Spent 20+ years chasing it. - Became a Fortune 500 president. - Built a 50-person business. - Retired at 38. The result: Got depressed ❌ Became miserable ❌ Couldn’t leave the house ❌ Not the dream life! So, I spent the last 3 years chasing a life that brought happiness. Became a full-time community founder. ↳ Love working ✅ Built a 195-person community. ↳ Feel inspired ✅ Grew a brand on LinkedIn. ↳ Full of purpose ✅ Society loves to tell you what being successful means. Doing some research this afternoon into a little self-driven side venture. I've got to say, there are LinkedIn articles on almost every professional subject you can imagine. I was so pleasantly surprised when I found exactly what I was looking for almost immediately. Not only that, the author of the article is a clear thought leader in their space. Gave her an immediate follow, those are the people I want to connect with. This place rules. Trying to do most things can be terrifying, but having that immediate sense of community makes it that much easier. Pretty soon I may have to write one of these article things 😎 #Communitybuilding

I just watched this talk and it was one of the most inspiring ones I've seen in a LONG time ✨ Sam Conniff's work is my new-found passion. There are so many highlights form it, that I don't want to share my takeaways, as I really want you 🫵🏼 to go watch it and get your own. But I will still share some extracts, just to spark your curiosity a bit more: 💡 Uncertainty is the #1 driver for anxiety 💡 The feeling of uncertainty shuts us down, leaving no room for innovation. If you try to push people when they're stuck, you break them. 💡 Fear is a driver for action -if you know how to manage it-. We need to talk about emotional regulation. 💡 If you can stay in the doubt as a place of discovery... real creativity emerges. 💡 The way out of stuck-ness, turns out, is CONNECTION. 💡 Uncertainty tolerance, in turn, is a KEY skill for the future. How do we cultivate this skill? Do you have any practices you want to share with the community here? I could write so many different posts about this one talk only! Some Sunday “No Scaries” Reflections: Back in January, I made a promise to myself that 2024 was going to be the year of prioritizing connection. I wrote down three goals on a post-it note that I wanted to hold myself accountable to, both on a personal and professional level: 1. Find and build community 2. Be more confident and decisive 3. Be more present 📝 Find and build community: I’ve been on the West Coast now for 5 years, and realized that I’ve generally been either heads down at work or with my tight knit group of friends here. I’ve been missing the value of networking and meeting new people/hearing diverse perspectives that often came much easier living in NYC vs. LA. 📝 Be more confident and decisive: Admittedly, I had a bit of an internal wake up call that my extreme people pleasing and perfectionist tendencies were often holding me back from being the best, most confident version of myself. And owning it. 📝 Be more present: Building off of the other two, it had become apparent that I was often stuck in an auto-pilot/multitasking zone and not making the mental space to be fully plugged in and intentional with my time. I’m proud to (confidently 😉) say that in more ways than one, I’ve really held myself accountable to these and have been feeling more empowered and inspired thus far this year than I have in the longest time. Why am I reflecting on this now? Yesterday, an IRL meetup in LA at Musa Tariq’s home was a reminder of one of the best things that has happened to me this year. And one that’s undoubtedly helped me with checking off all of the boxes. I’m so grateful for not only Musa’s mentorship, but for having this exceptional local and global community of humans: marketers, creatives, entrepreneurs, and most importantly, friends who constantly show up for one another and make each other better. Connection is truly everything.
