When I was a single 20 something in New York City my dating motto was, “Not everybody’s gonna like me!” This made the dating scene fun instead of a contest. Is razzle dazzle raspberry everyone's favorite ice cream? Nope. And does that make razzle dazzle raspberry any less delicious? If you find there are people, even clients, bosses or colleagues with whom you need to “put on a show” or somehow keep up some appearance of anything but who you naturally are, think about whether they’d be better served by someone else on your team. Move toward the people who like you, just as you are (as Mr Darcy famously said). I am passionate. I love what I do. And I am too much for some. And that’s OK. I let my colleagues - with their different, authentic personalities - shine where they are enjoyed most. I’m not for everyone. And that’s OK. And it’s OK for you too. It doesn’t make you any less fan-freaking-tastic! #Diamonds #BusinessStrategy #Gemstones #DigitalMarketing #Jewelry
Agree! When we simply mimic the values of others, our opinion stops being ours. We have to embrace and stand by our own values and be true to who we are!
This is a great. Very well said and true 👍
Just being yourself is the best thing you can be because it makes the people that really are not worth your time leave you alone - bonus all round?!

Well said! That's true to brands as well: When a brand tries to please every customer, they lose value, especially to the ones who liked them first. Stealing the words of the great Mike Tyson: If you are a friend of everybody, you're an enemy of yourself.
I love this and so true. Being self aware and evaluating every interaction is vital to knowing when to make that hand-off.
Elle I guess this is why we get along :) similar motos

10moYes! I can’t like this post enough. Well said! Being OK with not being everyone’s cup of tea…is a powerful, life-altering mindset. It is OK. You are you. The only thing that matters is that you compete with you - be a better version of yesterday’s you. “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” -Oscar Wilde
