Beau Groover shared the following quote earlier today - by Doc McIntyre Tis the season for goal setting, so thought this quote from Dan Rockwell might get your juices flowing: If you can reach your goal by yourself, you need a higher goal. It should remind people that… 1) You can’t achieve really big stuff by doing more of the same and doing it by 2) You need to explicitly identify the people (mentors or teammates) who can help you, nudge you, and keep you honest. Perhaps you sense a toxic situation developing in your organization, or you want to set yourself apart from your competition by defining your ethical standards. I can assist your teams in defining what your core values are, and help develop a strategy to commit to doing business according to them, as well as publish them to set a higher standard for your competitors.

Just finished Excellence Wins by Horst Shulze and wanted to share some of my key takeaways: 1. People want to be inspired and led, not told and managed. 2. Don’t be afraid to look at failures and shortcomings head on. Always be asking your customer/ clients/ employees “what could we be doing better”’ (Big one for me as I tend towards wanting to avoid feedback) 3. Don’t blame external conditions for your own organizations shortcomings. Ask questions and move forward to do better. 4. Take ownership when problems arise and seek to resolve them even if you didn’t cause them. 4. There is dignity in all work with the right company culture. No job is less than another. 5. Be crystal clear with where we are going, how we are going to get there, and who we are going to be in the process. Then repeat, repeat, repeat. Has anyone read this book and gotten other takeaways?

“You do not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems “ Catchy mission statement are great for PR, but a culture of accountability and clear processes is what gets things done. Specially how your mission , vision are translated into consistent daily action that matters . It makes a company good & its leaders GREAT. Similarly in personal life doing ordinary things for extraordinary amount of time brings you to that exceptional skilled paradigm of 1% group of people. If Goals are the destination, routine & consistency is the fuel to that journey. Now ask yourself: what was your new year resolution of 2024 & what you are doing “DAILY “ to achieve it ?

They may not remember your words, but they will never forget how you made them feel. This is a golden rule in business, life, and especially leadership. Words fade, but emotions last. Treating someone with kindness, respect, and authenticity leaves a mark they carry. Think about the last time someone made you feel genuinely valued—maybe it was a thoughtful gesture, encouragement, or simply someone who listened without judgment. That feeling stays, and it’s what builds trust, loyalty, and connection. As carriers in the supply chain, this philosophy applies to every load we haul and conversation. It’s not just about the service but the experience we create for our customers and partners. Let’s prioritize creating unforgettable experiences—not just through what we deliver but also through how we make people feel. After all, that’s what sets us apart. Reach out if you’re ready to work with a partner who values relationships as much as results.

Excellence doesn't happen overnight; we all get that. Yet so many miss what really gets us there. Here's how you can do it: - Choose one impactful habit. Focus on ONE, not TEN. - Stay consistent, even when it's tedious. That's where the real magic happens. - Monitor your progress — Keep a journal. Write it down and revisit it often. Celebrate Your Progress - You're now in the process of creating excellence, not just chasing it. - Every little step is a victory, taking you to amazing places! 🔑 Consistency is the key. Keep up the great work!

This is a good piece. It takes a lot of courage to go this path. Do think organizations in today's immediate result focused operating environment, place any value on loyalty/trust? How do we objectively measure loyalty?
