What are the first steps you take to enter a new market? I'd love to hear your experience! Serbia is my first international market, and it's a new challenge for me. Previously, I worked exclusively with Russian-speaking clients based around the world: the UK, the USA, Germany. This helped me understand the nuances of working in different markets, but working locally with Serbian clients is an entirely new experience. Here are my first steps for entering this market: 🟣 Registering a company in Serbia. In spring, I officially registered my agency here to operate legally and build trust with local clients. 🟣 Learning the Serbian language. I studied Serbian in a language school for 8 months and currently have an A2 level. While it's not enough for full-scale work, I communicate with people in Serbian and feel my skills improving over time. 🟣 Hiring a local sales manager. I hired a Serbian sales manager to speed up my integration into the market and gain a deeper understanding of its specifics. 🦄 I'll be sharing my insights as I progress on this journey. Last week was a game-changer for me in my 5-year sales career. For the first time, I had the chance to dive into fieldwork and visit clients across a whole region in the Philippines. Being the dedicated sales expert for the CAMANAVA/Bulacan region, I met the amazing people behind the accounts I'll be handling moving forward. Meeting my clients face-to-face was a revelation. I discovered the challenges they’re facing and began building genuine relationships. There's something profoundly different about in-person interactions – you feel the emotions, the trust, and the satisfaction they have when your service hits the mark. Understanding their pain points firsthand allowed me to see exactly where our products and services could make a real difference. It’s crucial to check in and scope out these needs regularly. As a sales person, I’m not just here to sell; I’m here to ensure our solutions drive their long-term success. I’m deeply grateful for the wisdom and guidance from my mentors, who have taught me so much and continue to support my growth in this role.
