A powerful leadership lesson everyone needs to hear: Change the delivery, not the standards 2023 National Coach of the Year Jerome Tang told me that great coaches don't change their standards for one player. Yet, how they deliver their message is ALWAYS tailored for each player. Because exceptional leaders tailor their communication, approach, & style. But never compromise their standards. *** If this resonates with you, share it to inspire others & follow me Andrew Moses for more in the future!

One of the most profound insights I gained from this mentorship program is Christ's perspective on leadership, "A leader is not the person that everyone serves but rather the one who serves everyone." Effective leadership involves distributing power rather than accumulating it. We must embody humility as leaders by serving our team, actively listening to them, and sharing our authority with them. This is the essence of exemplary leadership. 🙏👌

When we raise up a leader, we should be thinking not only about that leader but through that leader to others who will follow later on. We should mentor and teach generational leadership handoff. This is the perspective great leaders need to cultivate in those they lead. Paul understood generational leadership. In 2 Timothy 2:2 ‘The things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others’ he describes four generations of leaders: himself, those he was raising up, those reliable leaders to whom they would hand off the ministry, and finally the “others” in the distant future. Leaders need to understand the importance of thinking beyond their own leadership.

Get to know yourself as a leader. It's the best leadership advice I've ever received. When you know who you are, you can let that be the backbone of how you lead. Instead of copying someone else's leadership style, you can be an authentic leader. You'll also be more aware the environment you need to be successful as a leader. Remember, all places are not built for all people. Go beyond finding an organization that aligns with your values and the work you want to do. Find a space and place where there are people who are going to support you to be your best self!
