As multidisciplinary higher-education institutions targeting farm sciences & technologies, USP - Universidade de São Paulo -Brazil and Magyar Agrár- és Élettudományi Egyetem (MATE) -Hungary embrace subjects concerning plant and animal production, whose introductory disciplines to their freshmen are prone to share common issues. The webinar aims to identify and discuss educational challenges and opportunities mutually tackled by Faculty Instructors at the Department of Basic Sciences and the Department of Biosystems Engineering from the Brazilian side and at the Institute of Mathematics & Basic Science and the Institute of Technology from the Hungarian side. Check out this resource on public engagement with science that emphasizes multi-directional communication. What does good science engagement look like to you?
Everybody wins!! This concept is central to high quality public engagement with science (PES). In our Practice Brief on the Reciprocal element of the SCRREE Framework, we share the importance of creating PES activities with the expectation that everyone involved (scientists included) can and will benefit from being in communication with one another. The brief provides a continuum of engagement ideas that was created by the Building with Biology project (https://lnkd.in/eWcHqpJx) - thanks to Larry Bell and Elizabeth Kunz Kollmann for sharing it and for reviewing early versions of this brief. It also shares an applied example through an In Action story from Ken Dunton and the Beaufort Lagoon Ecosystem (BLE) LTER. BLE conducts research in Alaska, near the small village of Kaktovik. The brief shares the relationship between BLE and the village, with multiple examples of how they have supported one another over the years. https://ble.lternet.edu/ Want to check out all six Practice Briefs? Zebrafish have been an ever growing part of behavioral research for quite some time now. However, not many labs are solely focussed on expanding the field of zebrafish research. At the Gerlai lab not only do the researchers and students perform conventional behavioral tests, they also research new applications of zebrafish and other fish species, like ram cichlids. https://hubs.li/Q02LyDhv0

I'm so delighted that my second experimental research has been published in (Clean Technologies and Environmental Policy) a Q2 Web of Science with an impact factor of 4.2, and Q1 Scopus with a cite score of 8.8. This study evaluated the effect of different coagulant dosages, current densities, pH values, and supporting electrolyte concentrations on removal efficiency, specific energy consumption (kWh/m3 or kWh/kg COD), total operating costs ($/m3 or $/kg COD) and anode efficiency (g COD/Ahm2, BOD or TOC) of coagulation-flocculation (CF), electrooxidation (EO) and combination of both processes (CF/EO) for the treatment of cattle slaughterhouse wastewater. As always, I must sincerely thank Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kobya for his support. I would also like to thank Prof. Dr. Erhan Gengec for his support. I would also like to thank my friend Kaniet Kubanychbek Kyzy, who always helped me with laboratory work throughout this study. Did you know evapotranspiration is the combination of evaporation and transpiration? 🤩 Evapotranspiration in plants is the combined process of water evaporation from the soil surface and transpiration from plant leaves. With the Dext science set 4.2 , students in class four second term will learn how evapotranspiration works and its benefits in the ecosystem. 🌱🌍 #stemisscienceset #stemforkids #handsonlearning #scienceeducation #ghana
