Greetings Everyone! 3rd week of MRS Technologies ' internship program has been completed!🎉 This week, we attended sessions and workshops as before but the most interesting part is that we started developing our MVP.😃 My part is to develop an IoT Water Level Sensor (Hardware + Firmware) and interface it with #AWS IoT core over #MQTT using ESP-IDF.🍕 IoT, Sensor, AWS, MQTT, I've worked on them all but ESP-IDF is something new. I knew about it but never built any project on it except blinking an LED. But! there's more to it. When I worked on ESP-IDF and built components myself. I realized I was just including libraries and calling functions in Arduino and not managing IoT events and MQTT messages. Just because of how simple Arduino is.🧑🏽💻 Arduino taught me how to think and build logic in embedded projects and I learned the theory separately from YouTube and Forums, just out of curiosity. Suppose I didn't have that curiosity and just continued with Arduino. I would have been building stuff without understanding how it works. Using #ESP-IDF, both theory and programming were merged. It took about 4 days to get used to #IDF but after that, I developed 65% of Water Level Sensor's code in a single day. Thanks to my Mentor Manaam Rehan at MRS Technologies, He guided me through this steep learning curve. 🙏🏽 Want to see the final MVP we are developing? Hey folks, I am excited to share that I've successfully completed the virtual internship in the Samsung PRISM program! The project was focused on "Detecting User Activities Based on Smart-Home Data and Knowledge Graphs." Throughout this internship, I had the opportunity to learn and work with some new and exciting technologies: Graph Database: An emerging database technology where data is stored in the form of nodes and relationships, unlike tables and tuples in relational databases. It is widely used in machine learning applications such as recommendation engines and fraud detection. We utilized a graph database as a knowledge graph to store the hierarchical structure and relationships between devices in a smarthome. TensorFlow: A machine learning framework used to build and train ML models. We trained the smart-home data on a Sequential model, which then interacted with the graph database to infer user activities. This project provided the opportunity to build recommendation and prediction systems for IoT ecosystems, which can be used in smart homes. I would like to thank my amazing team members Abhinav Dwivedi Asmi Manhas Tanish Kaur and mentors who supported and guided me throughout this journey.
